Orange Creamsicle Kool Aid Pie ???????????? No Bake Icebox Pie ???????????? Easy Summer Dessert ????️
My orange creamsicle Kool Aid pie recipe is easy and delicious! With just a few ingredients you can make this no bake icebox pie that tastes just like an orange creamsicle. If you're looking for the perfect dessert for your Memorial Day barbecue, or any summer event, definitely give this one a try.
The filling for this pie is super simple: Cool Whip, sweetened condensed milk, orange Kool Aid, orange juice, and orange zest. Although I used Minneola tangerine juice and zest, any type of orange would work. I added some food coloring to give this a bright orange color, but that isn't necessary.
To make the filling, mix all of the ingredients together--except for the Cool Whip. When adding the Cool Whip, remember to fold it in instead of stirring: that will help keep the whipped topping from deflating.
Once the pie filling is done, simply pour it into an 8-inch prepared graham cracker pie crust, smooth it out, and chill for 8 hours. Although you could definitely use a storebought graham cracker crust, I highly suggest making your own. If you do use a storebought crust, dusting the bottom with a bit of cinnamon would help make it taste more homemade.
This orange creamsicle Kool Aid pie was fantastic. Honestly, I was expecting this to be more of an orange Kool-Aid pie, but the creaminess from the Cool Whip came though strong enough to turn this into a creamsicle pie--which wasn't a bad thing.
I know that use Kool Aid to make a no bake icebox pie sounds odd, but it's actually genius. On its own, Kool Aid doesn't have any sugar, so adding it to sweetened condensed milk and Cool Whip allows you to add flavor without making the pie filling too sweet.
This pie was cool and refreshing, so it would be the perfect Memorial Day barbecue dessert...or for any summer barbecue, picnic, or other event. If you make my recipe, I know you'll love it!
