How To make Oatmeal Bread
1 c Old-fashioned rolled oats
2 tb Butter or margarine
1 1/2 ts Salt
5 tb Honey
2 pk Active dry yeast
1/2 c Warm milk
3 tb Hulled sunflower seeds (opt)
3 tb Chopped walnuts(opt)
3 1/4 c White bread flour
Water Uncooked old-fashioned -rolled oats for garnish Gently simmer the oats in 1 cup of water, covered, for 30 minutes. Mix in margarine, salt and honey. Let
cool to room temperature. Meanwhile, mix the yeast into the warm milk and let stand until bubbles appear, about 10 minutes. Add to the oatmeal mixture and mix well. Add sunflower seeds and walnuts if desired. Then mix in 1 cup of the flour at a time, kneading in the last 1/4 cup of flour if needed to make a firm dough. Let stand in a covered bowl in a warm place until doubled in bulk, about 1 hour. Divide into 2 portions, knead well and form into loaves. Place in 2 well-greased 7 1/2-by-3 1/2-inch loaf pans, cover and let rise again for 20 minutes. (The dough will not rise to the top because it is low n gluten). Brush the tops of the loaves with water, sprinkle with oats and bake in 375-degree oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until loaves are nicely golden. Remove from pans and let cool on wire rack. Makes 2 loaves of 10 slices each. Per serving: 121 cal; 3g pro, 23g carb, 2g fat(13%) Source: Cook's Corner, Miami Herald, 1/25/96 format by Lisa Crawford -----

???? How to keep it
* Put it in a food container and store it at room temperature. It is delicious to eat within 3 days. Or, when the bread is fresh, it is frozen and then naturally defrosts and have it.
* If you already sliced bread, you can toast sliced frozen bread in a toaster directly. (Easy + Good!)

❗️Measurements Note: All recipes have been developed using weight measurements. Although US volume measurements have been included for your convenience, it is highly encouraged that you weigh your ingredients using a kitchen scale to get the best possible results. Due to the sensitive nature of baking, kitchen scales are proven to yield more accurate and consistent results than measuring cups. Enjoy!

Oat Flour Bread
Ingredients
150g / 1 cup plain flour
100g / 1 cup rolled oats, powdered to make oat flour
180ml / 1 cup water
12g yeast
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon salt
Garnish:
Water for wash (milk can be used too)
Oats to sprinkle
In a bowl add the water, yeast, sugar and salt, stir together.
Add the oat and plain flour in batches, this helps the flour to mix well. Knead to form a soft dough.
Gently rub the dough with oil and place in bowl, cover and keep aside in a warm area for 1 hour, the dough should rises to double in volume, if not leave for another hour until it does.
Knock the dough, shape into a log. Place in a greased bread tin and cover, leave rise for 30 minutes.
Remove the cover, gently wash the bread top with water (milk can be used too) and sprinkle rolled oats.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180C/350F for 25 minutes or until the bread is cooked and has a golden crust.
Note: I always put a small bowl of water in the bottom shelf of the oven while baking bread, this water creates steam and prevents the bread from drying out.
