Marzipan Sparkles Cookie Recipe ???? 31 Days of Cookies
Marzipan is my spirit animal. When I was a kid there was a bakery near our house that made the most beautiful, sparkling marzipan fruits. I remember being in awe of the lifelike dainty sweets. That fascination had never faded. I might not be skilled at crafting handmade ornamental fruits, but I am quite pleased with these marzipan filled cookies that taste like my childhood and have their own sparkly shimmer.

Making Spritz Cookies! - Vlogmas Day 23 | Meghan
Here is the recipe if you'd like to try it out! Not sure where my dad got it from honestly...
Ingredients: 2 cups of flour, 0.5 cup white granulated sugar, 0.25 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1 large egg, 0.5 pound unsalted butter, at room temperature and cut into cubes
1. Preheat oven to 350F.
2. Whisk together flour, sugar, and salt into large bowl, then sprinkle with vanilla extract. Crack the egg into the center of the bowl and then dot the flour mixture with the butter. Mix everything together with your clean hands until you get dough. Try not to knead it too much, as you will then make tough cookies. You just want everything to come together cohesively.
3. Press dough through a cookie press. Put on a die of your choice then load the press with the dough. Ratchet out the dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet. (We had to add some more flour to the dough at this point).
4. Bake the cookies at 350F for 10-12 minutes. The cookies will not brown, so don't wait for that to happen. Garnish the cookies with sprinkles or powdered sugar as soon as they come out of the oven.
5. Let the cookies cool on the sheet for 5 minutes, then carefully move them to a rack. Let them cool completely before putting the cookies away. They will freeze well.
