Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies
The peanut butter blossom cookies originated in 1957. Each soft peanut butter cookie is topped with a piece of chocolate candy creating a blossoming effect.
INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 cup AP Flour
1/4 tsp Baking Soda
1/4 tsp Baking Powder
1/4 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Sea Salt
1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
1/4 cup Creamy Peanut Butter
1/4 cup Chunky Peanut Butter
1/3 cup Brown Sugar
1/3 cup Sugar
1 Large Egg
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1/2 tbsp Milk
20 Hershey's Kisses
DIRECTIONS:
1. Whisk the first 4 ingredients together in a small bowl. Set aside.
2. In a stand-mixer bowl, cream together the butter and peanut butter until it's smooth.
3. Add brown sugar and sugar. Beat until lighter in color.
4. Add in the egg, vanilla extract, and milk. Mix well together.
5. Turn off the mixer and add the dry mixture. Turn on the mixer at the lowest speed and mix until the dough is well incorporated.
6. Cover the dough and refrigerate for about 10-20 minutes.
7. Preheat the oven at 375°F. Line the large baking sheet with parchment paper.
8. Use a round tablespoon to scoop the dough so they'll be the similar size. Shape each scoop into a ball (should have about 20 balls). Place each ball about half an inch apart.
9. Bake for 8 minutes then remove from oven. Press a chocolate in the middle of each ball. Do Not press too deep. The cookies should look like they're blossoming.
10. Place back in over for another 1 minute.
11. Transfer cookies to a cooling rack for 2-5 minutes.
12. You can enjoy them right away or store them in a tight container and put them in the refrigerator to enjoy them over time. They should last up to 2 weeks, but Good Luck not devouring them before that! :)
