Baking a Marble Cake from Scratch in HD
Today we are baking a cake from scratch. The ingredients that go into this cake give it a distinctive homemade flavor.
2 sticks (16 Tablespoons) UNSALTED-butter
1 cup sugar
5 eggs (large size)
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
1 ½ cups flour
8 tablespoons heavy cream
6 pieces of semi-sweet baking chocolate
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
A pinch of salt
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
1. Preheat oven to 375 deg. F.
2. Melt 2 Tablespoons butter with chocolate.
3. Cut up rest of butter (14 Tablespoons) with sugar and salt and mix until smooth.
4. Add eggs on at a time and keep mixing.
5. Mix in baking powder and flour.
6. Add vanilla extract and heavy cream. Mix some more.
7. Split dough into two parts and add melted chocolate to the one half.
8. Coat baking mold with butter and breadcrumbs.
9. Layer in alternating layers of dough in mold.
10. Create marble pattern.
11. Bake 45 mins.
12. Sprinkle with powder sugar when cool.

(0:22) 150 g Zucker --- 150 g sugar
(0:28) 1 Packg. Vanillezucker --- 1 pack vanilla sugar
(0:35) 1 Prise Salz --- 1 pinch of salt
(0:41) 1/2 TL Zitronenschale --- 1/2 tsp lemon peel
(0:46) 2 EL Rum --- 2 tbsp. rum
(1:15) 6 Eier --- 6 eggs
(2:30) 120 g Zucker --- 150 g sugar
(2:50) 280 g Mehl --- 280 g flour
1 TL Backpulver - 1 tsp baking powder
(3:15) 100 ml Milch (lauwarm) --- 100 ml milk (lukewarm)
(4:23) 2 EL Kakaopulver --- 2 tbsp cocao powder
(5:50) Puderzucker --- Powdered sugar
Zeitplan --- Timetable

(5:24) Kuchen im Ofen (150°C) --- Cake in the oven (300°F) --- 60 min.
(5:42) Kuchen ein wenig auskühlen lassen --- Cool down cake --- 30 - 60 min.
Extra tipps

Beim Backen wenn möglich immer lauwarme oder zumindest keine gekühlten Zutaten verwenden.
Nicht vergessen, die Backform einzufetten. Ist ganz wichtig!
Backzeit gilt für Umluftherd. Ober-/Unterhitze normalerweise +20°C.
Stäbchenprobe in jedem Fall zu empfehlen.
Ungesüsstes Kakaopulver ist beim Backen erste Wahl.
Die Eigelbe sollten nacheinander eingerührt werden.
Mehl, Milch und Eiweiß mit dem Rührlöffel unterheben, kein Rührgerät verwenden.
Ein Löffel mit einem Loch in der Mitte ist zu empfehlen - wenn zur Hand.
Kann mit Schlagsahne serviert werden.
Extra tips

For baking I recommend to use warm ingredients/ not cooled ingredients.
Do not forget to butter the baking form. Very important!
Baking time is for a fan-forced oven. Top-bottom-heat usually +70°F.
If you are not sure: Make the chop-stick test.
Unsweetened cocao powder is the better choice for baking.
Mix in the egg yolks separately.
Flour, milk and egg white should be mixed in with a spoon. Do not use a mixer.
A spoon with a hole in the middle is a good choice for mixing.

Make the perfect classic pound cake EVERY SINGLE TIME! It's pound cake 101 and I'm going to walk you through every step! Pound cake is such a versatile dessert! It makes a great layer in dessert trifles, grilled for summertime strawberry shortcakes, or simply eaten plain or with fresh berries! I prefer it plain Jane or topped with hot, buttery peaches or syrupy strawberries and mounds of homemade whipped cream.

HOW TO MAKE THE BEST POUND CAKE RECIPE
Preheat oven to 325 F. Grease a 10-cup bundt cake pan with a thin layer of shortening (I use butter-flavored shortening for this. It gives the crust a nice golden crunch and buttery flavor) and then very lightly coat it with flour. Set aside. (If using loaf pans use two 9.5 loaf pans)
In a large bowl add sifted flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together well to make sure all of the dry ingredients are combined. Set aside.
In another large bowl, cream together butter until fluffy.
Add sugar gradually while mixing at low speed until combined and fluffy. Mix for three minutes (set timer)
Mix in eggs one or two at a time just until combined. Keep your mixture on low speed.
Mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients while alternating with the whole milk. Start and end with the dry ingredients. Mix until batter is combined and fluffy. Keep the mixer on low speed. Be sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl.
Mix in the vanilla extract and lemon extract.
Spoon batter evenly into prepared bundt pan. Shake and tap the pan on the counter to even out the batter and release any air pockets.
Place on the middle rack and bake for 1 hour and 10-20 minutes until a cake tester or toothpick inserted into the pound cake comes out clean.
Place pan on a cooling rack until it is cool enough to touch but still warm.
Carefully remove the cake from the pan and place it on a wire rack to finish cooling.
Slice the cooled cake and serve. *Remember pound cake is one of those desserts that gets better the next day.
