How To make Mother's Oh and Ah! Cake
3 Unsweetened chocolate;
-(1-oz) 1 c Very hot water
1 ts Red food coloring
1 1/2 ts Baking soda
2 c Granulated sugar
1/2 ts Salt
3 Eggs
1/2 c Shortening
2 1/2 c Sifted cake flour
(sifted before measuring) 1 c Sour cream
Recipe by: St. Louis Post-Dispatch 3/18/96 Grease and flour 1 (13-by-9-by-2 1/2-inch) pan or 3 (8-inch) cake pans. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine chocolate and hot water; stir until chocolate melts. Let cool, then add food coloring and baking soda. Stir and set aside. In a large mixing bowl, beat sugar, salt, eggs and shortening until fluffy. Mix in a third of the flour, then 1/3 cup sour cream; repeat twice. Add chocolate mixture; beat about 2 minutes on medium speed of mixer. Pour batter into prepared pans. Bake about 45 minutes for 13-by-9-inch pan (less for cake pans), or until toothpick
inserted near center of cake comes out clean. Remove from pans and let cool on rack before frosting. -----

15 MINUTE SOMALI RICE | BARIIS FUR FUR AH OO QAADANAYA 15 MINS | EASY RAMADAN, LOCKDOWN RECIPES
I've come back with Somali rice! You guys really loved this one during my Instagram Live cooking sessions a while back so it had to make it to Youtube! Tbh Don’t think I had a choice ???? It really is an underdog in comparison to rice from other cultures and I love my Mum and sister for showing me that it literally takes 15 mins! Gosh I love it! Hope you enjoyed it too!
What I used:
1 cup rice (I like to use sella rice), parboiled (Cook until it is half cooked, so half the rice is clear and some is still white, for me it takes about 8 mins. This can differ)
1/2 onion, sliced (you can choose to use a whole one)
1/2 cup vegetable oil (about 8tbsp)
1 onion, diced
1 medium tomato, diced
Handful coriander, crushed
3-4 garlic cloves, crushed
1 chicken stock cube (I used Maggi brand, you can use 1 tbsp of the powdered version, you can substitute this for vegetable stock)
4-5 cardamom pods, (you can also use 1/4 teaspoon powdered cardamom)
1 cinnamon stick
1 tbsp ground cumin
1/4 tsp food colouring of your choice (turning it into a liquid or using the liquid versions work too)
1/4 cup raisins/sultanas, rinse in boiling water to soften
