How to make: Mama's Cheesy Biscuits
I'm sharing my mama's famous Cheesy Biscuit recipe with the world, your welcome! Every soup mama ever makes is accompanied by these cheddar filled, buttermilk biscuits. Now I'm passing on the family tradition.
Cheesy Biscuits:
2 cups flour
2 tsp Baking Powder
3/4 tsp Salt
1/3 Cup Shorting/Butter
1 Cup Buttermilk
1/2 Cup Shredded Cheese
Preheat oven to 425. Mix dry ingredients together. Cut in shorting or butter (I use my kitchen aid). Mix in the milk until the ingredients combine. Add in the cheese just before completely incorporated.
Kitchen Aid I use:
Kitchen Aid Whisk Attachment (best for butter):
Mom's Hints: You can supplement butter for shorting. Do not over mix, they will be tough if you do. You can also use plain milk instead of buttermilk.
