How To make Mom's Butter Cookies
2 c Butter
1 c Sugar
2 Egg
2 ts Vanilla extract
2 ts Lemon extract
2 ts Almond extract
5 c Flour
1 ts Baking powder
Beat sugar and butter til fluffy. Add egg and extracts and mix well. (If a color dough is desired, ie. green for trees etc... add at this time). Add dry ingredients and mix til smooth. Chill at least 1 hour. Great for use with cookie press. If rolling dough for use with cookie cutters add an additional 1/2 cup of flour. Bake in 400degree oven for about 5 minutes until the cookie no longer shine. Will be dull in color. SOURCE: Mom's favorite cookie press dough... mine too! Kim Beyers

Angelo's Mom Makes Greek Butter Cookies (Kourabiedes)
These are very good and it's an easy recipe to follow. The ingredients:
-3 cups all purpose flour
-About 2 cups powdered sugar (1 for the batter, 1 (or more as necessary) for coating the cookies after you bake them)
-3/4 teaspoon baking powder
-1 large egg yolk (or 2 small ones)
-1/2 cup grated almonds
-1 pound butter
-1 tablespoon cognac (Brandy)
-About 1/2 cup of ouzo
Leave the pound of butter out for a few hours or overnight at room temperature. Ground half a cup of almonds. Separate an relatively large egg yolk (or two small ones) and put it into a small bowl.
Put the butter in a large bowl. Add the powdered sugar to the bowl and use an egg beater on a slow setting to whip the butter and sugar for a few minutes until it's creamy.
Add the egg yolk and keep whipping with the egg beater. Add the half cup Brandy to the mix and keep whipping it.
Get another small bowl, fill it with flour, add a little baking powder and mix them. Add it to the butter mixture and stir it all with a large spoon.
Then gradually add the rest of the flour a little at a time, stirring the butter mixture after every time you add some.
When the dough is sufficiently firm so it doesn't stick to your hands, add the grounded almonds and mix them in and keep mixing it all until it's firm enough not to stick to your hands.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Put wax paper on a baking pan for the cookies, though if the pan is thick enough like my mom's you can coat the pan with butter and not put wax paper.
Roll the dough up however you like or use cookie cutters to make shapes of them. Lay them out on a pan and bake them for about 20 minutes. After you take it out of the oven let it cool for 15 minutes. They'll still be warm, and sprinkle Ouzo on them and then coat them with powdered sugar.

Italian Christmas Butter Cookies (e35)
Buon giorno a tutti. In this episode, Nonna Mia, la nonna di tutti (everyone's grandma), shares some memories of her mother and a simple butter cookie recipe.
Ingredients:
- 6 cups of all-purpose flour
- 5 eggs
- 2 Tablespoons of baking powder
- 2 cups of sugar
- 1 cup of butter, melted
- 1 ounce of Grand Marnier (optional or other liqueur of your choice)
- lemon zest from 3 lemons
Nonna shapes her 6 cups of flour into a nest and places the ingredients within the nest, slowly pulling the ingredients into the flour. She use extra flour to pull together and knead the dough, as required.
Nonna rolls the dough until it's about a centimetre in thickness and then she uses cookie cutters to make the cookies.
You can leave the cookies plain, add almonds, or cherries, sprinkles or whatever you wish.
Bake at 350F for 12 minutes and enjoy with a nice espresso!

Melt in your mouth traditional cherry ???? butter cookies ????. My favorite and a MUST have cookie during festive season like Chinese New Year and Hari Raya.
Ingredients: (for about 100 cookies)
1) Salted butter 100g
2) Icing sugar 30g
3) All purpose flour 100g
4) Custard powder 10g
5) Corn flour 30g
6) Chopped red cherries
Bake in a preheated oven at 150°C for 15 minutes.
