Crispy Golden Fried Prawns | Golden Fried Shrimp Recipe | Crispy Fried Shrimp | Crispy Prawns Fry | Fried Shrimp Recipe | Batter Fried Shrimp | Batter Fried Prawns | Crispy Fried Prawns | Panko Fried Shrimp
Ingredients for Golden Fried Prawns:
(Tsp- Teaspoon; Tbsp- Tablespoon )
- Prawn or Shrimp - 450-500 gms (shelled and deveined)
Marinate Prawns with :
- Salt- 1/2 tsp
- Pepper Powder- 1/2 tsp
Ingredients for coating the prawns:
- All purpose flour (Maida)- 1 US cup measure seasoned with a pinch of salt and pepper powder.
- Whisked eggs-2
- Panko Bread Crumbs- 1.5 US cup measure
-Salt- 1/4 tsp
- Pepper Powder- 1/4 tsp
Other Ingredients:
- Oil for deep frying
Preparation:
- Clean and devein the shrimps/prawns and make diagonal cuts on the inner side at 3 places to prevent the prawns from curling up.
- Marinate the prawns with salt and pepper powder and set aside for 30 mins in room temperature.
- Take 3 glass containers.
- Add the all purpose flour, whisked eggs and the Panko bread crumbs in each
Process:
- Firstly add the marinated prawns/shrimp in the bowl of all purpose flour and dredge these completely to coat them with the all purpose flour.
- Take the shrimp one at a time and add them in the whisked egg.
- With your left hand coat the shrimp with the whisked eggs and drop them in the bowl containing Panko bread crumbs.
- Now with your right hand coat the shrimp with the Panko breadcrumbs pressing it well to make it stick.
- Arrange in a plate. Repeat till all are done.
- You can arrange in 2 plates and keep these in the freezer for minimum 1 hour.
- You can also freeze this longer and fry later.
- Heat oil till medium hot and add the coated prawns. Do not crowd the pan.
- Do not stir for 1 minute and then stir and fry till golden in colour.
- Fry for a total time of 4- 5 mins on medium heat.
- Fry till they are crisp and golden brown
- Fry the rest in the next batch.
- You may also not fry all the shrimps and keep them frozen and fry later as required.

When it comes to grilling shrimp, bigger is always better. Jumbo shrimp take more time to cook through, allowing them to stay in contact with the heat long enough to develop a char. For the juiciest shrimp, grill them with the shell on. The shell imparts a distinct flavor to the shrimp and acts as a heat buffer, helping to prevent them from overcooking. Here, I've made two different seasonings for the shrimp, one with thyme, rosemary and jerk spice, the other a classic garlic and herb mix.

Ingredients for Grilled Shrimp:

- Jumbo Shrimp/Prawns - Net 450 gms. (1 lb) after shelling and deveining
Marinade Mix:
- Olive oil- 6 tbsp
- Paprika powder- 1.5 tsp
- Red Chilli Powder/Cayenne Pepper- 1/2 tsp
- Crushed Pepper- 1/2 tsp
- Salt-3/4 tsp
- Brown Sugar- 1.5 tbsp
- Lemon juice-2 tsp
- Garlic, minced- 1.5 tsp
- Fresh Parsley fine chopped- 4 tsp
- Red Chilli flakes- 1/4 tsp
- Oregano - 1/4 tsp
Other Ingredients:
- Olive oil- 1.5 tbsp
Dipping Sauce:
- Sriracha Sauce- 2 tsp
- Lemon Juice- 2-3 tsp
- Honey- 2 tbsp
- Finely chopped Parsley- 1 tsp
Preparation:
- Clean and devein the prawns/shrimp. Leave the tail on.
- Whisk together all the items for the marinade in a bowl.
- Marinate the prawns/shrimp with this marinade for around an hour.
- Add all the items for the Dipping Sauce in a small bowl. Whisk and set aside.
Process:
- Preheat a Grill pan
- Brush it with olive oil.
- Now place the marinated prawns/shrimp side by side to not crowd the pan.
- Grill on medium heat for 2 mins .
- Flip the shrimp pieces to grill on the other side on medium heat for another 2 mins. Now baste with the oil on the pan on this side.
- Grill on each side for another 1 min, basting with the oil left on the pan this time.
- Serve hot with the Dipping Sauce & a dash of lime if required.

Full written recipe for Prawns Koliwada
Prep time: 10-15 minutes
Cooking time: 10-15 minutes (excluding marination time)
Serves: 3-4 people
Ingredients:
First marination
PRAWNS | झींगे 500 GRAMS
SALT | नमक TO TASTE
TURMERIC POWDER | हल्दी पाउडर 1/4 TSP
LEMON JUICE | निंबू का रस 1 TBSP
Vaatan
FRESH CORIANDER | हरा धनिया A SMALL HANDFUL
GARLIC | लेहसुन 10-12 CLOVES
GINGER | अदरक 1/2 INCH
GREEN CHILLI | हरी मिर्च 3 NOS.
WATER | पानी AS REQUIRED
Batter & frying
POWDERED SPICES
KASHMIRI RED CHILLI POWDER | कश्मीरी लाल मिर्च पाउडर 1.5 TBSP
SPICY RED CHILLI POWDER| तीखी लाल मिर्च पाउडर 1 TBSP
CORIANDER POWDER | धनिया पाउडर 1 TBSP
GARAM MASALA | गरम मसाला 1/2 TSP
CUMIN POWDER | जीरा पाउडर 1/2 TSP
BLACK SALT | काला नमक 1/2 TSP
BLACK PEPPER POWDER | काली मिर्च पाउडर 1/4 TSP
DRY MANGO POWDER | आमचूर पाउडर 1/2 TSP
CHAAT MASALA | चाट मसाला 1/2 TSP
ASAFOETIDA | हींग A PINCH
LEMON JUICE | निंबू का रस 1 TSP
OIL | तेल 1 TBSP
EGG WHITE | ऐग व्हाइट 1 NO.
GRAM FLOUR | बेसन 3 TBSP (FINE)
CORN FLOUR | कॉर्न फ्लोर 4 TBSP
Method:
Transfer the prawns into a bowl & add salt, turmeric powder & lemon juice, mix well & let the prawns marinate for 15 minutes.
While the prawns are marinating add the fresh coriander, garlic, ginger, green chilli, water into a mixer grinder jar & grind it into a fine paste to make the vaatan.
Once the prawns have marinated add the vaatan along with all the powdered spices & lemon juice, mix well & then add the oil & continue to mix until the prawns get coated well with the masalas.
Further add in the egg white, gram flour & corn flour, mix really well & the prawns are ready to be fried.
Heat oil in a deep pan until it gets moderately hot (170 C) then carefully drop the prawns into the hot oil in small batches, fry until slightly golden brown then remove them onto a sieve & let them rest for 5 minutes.
Switch the flame to high & heat the oil slightly more to flash fry the prawns, after the prawns have rested add them back into the oil & fry briefly until they get crisp & golden brown.
Further transfer them into a sieve so that all the excess oil drips off.
Your prawns koliwada are ready, serve them hot & sprinkle some ch
Chutney
Ingredients:
MINT | पुदीना 2 CUPS
FRESH CORIANDER | धनिया 1 CUP
ONION | प्याज़ 2 NOS. MEDIUM SIZED
TOMATO | टमाटर 1 NO.
GARLIC | लेहसुन 15-20 CLOVES
GINGER | अदरक 1 INCH
SPRING ONION GREENS | हरे प्याज़ के पत्ते 1/2 CUP (OPTIONAL)
GREEN CHILLIES | हरी मिर्च 8-10 NOS.
TAMARIND | इमली A LEMON SIZED BALL
SALT | नमक TO TASTE
BLACK SALT | काला नमक A PINCH
CHAAT MASALA | चाट मसाला A PINCH
ICE CUBE | बर्फ 1 NO.
WATER | पानी AS REQUIRED
Method:
Add all the ingredients of the chutney into a mixer grinder jar & grind it into a fine chutney.
Your special green chutney is ready, you can pair this with any fried seafood dish.

Spicy Prawns Roast recipe is a quick prawns stir fry made with simple and easily available ingredients. This quick prawns fry can be made under 15 minutes excluding marination time. It goes well with plain rice or any flavoured rice or even as an appetizer.
So here’s the recipe from my kitchen to yours.

Ingredients
For Marination :
350 gms Prawns ( after being deshelled & deveined)
½ tsp Turmeric Powder
1 tsp Pepper Powder
1 tbsp Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder
1 tbsp Coriander Powder
½ tsp Salt (or as per taste)
1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
1 tbsp Lemon Juice
1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
Other Ingredients :
3 to 4 tbsp Vegetable Oil (use as per your diet restrictions)
½ tsp Mustard Seeds (rai)
4 nos. Green Chillies (use as per your spice tolerance)
2 sprigs Curry Leaves
2 medium size Onions (thinly sliced)
½ tsp Salt
8 to 10 Garlic cloves (thinly sliced)
Note : tsp is teaspoon
tbsp is tablespoon
