Melt butter in a sauce pan with Coco and stir until smooth. Remove from heat and allow to cool for a few minutes. Whisk in eggs one at a time. Stir in vanilla.
In a separate bowl, combine sugar, flour, nuts and salt. Add to the cocoa/butter/egg mix. Don’t over mix.
Pour into a greased 8 x 8 square pan (for squares or a circle cake pan and cut into wedges). Bake for 40 minutes - don’t ever bake they should be gooey. Let cool and cut into desired shapes. Best with a really glass of cold milk, a really creamy coffee or a midday cuppa. Or with whip cream on top. You do you! Enjoy!

Katharine Hepburn's Brownies 14
Chewy brownies that are easy to make and delicious! Uses hardly any flour and lots of nuts. Miss Hepburn used 2 ounces of baking chocolate but I use the cocoa powder and oil equivalent. My way there is no chance of burning the chocolate while melting it. Also it is important to remove the wax paper lining ASAP so it won't become attached during cooling.

katharine hepburn's brownies | a cheesemonger's daughter
The world doesn’t need another brownie recipe. And I know that whatever I come up with wouldn’t come close to many that already exist. So I belief when it comes to brownies is to find one you like, learn it, love it, and make it your own. This is my favorite go to because it’s simple, no fuss, on the fudgier side of things, and can be customized with whatever you want to add to it: nuts, chocolate chips, peanut butter, dulce de leche, pretzels, make it rocky road with grahams and marshmallows, I mean, the possibilities are endless.
