How To make Hungarian Paprlka Chicken
1 tb Vegetable oil
1 md Onion, cut lengthwise into
Thin wedges 1 md Green bell pepper, seeded
And cut in strips 2 ts Minced fresh garlic
1 1/2 c Chicken broth
1 (8-ounce) can stewed
Tomatoes 2 tb Paprika (preferably
Hungarian) 1/4 ts Salt
1/4 ts Ground black pepper
4 Chicken legs, skin removed
1 c Nonfat sour cream
2 tb All-purpose flour
In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Add the onion, bell pepper and garlic. Cook, stirring often, for 4 to 5 minutes, or until the onion is soft and the bell pepper is crisp-tender. Stir in the broth, tomatoes, paprika, salt and pepper. Bring to a gentle boil. Add the chicken legs in a single layer. Reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 35 to 40 minutes, turning the chicken once, until the
meat nearest the bone is opaque and the juices run clear when the meat is pierced with a sharp knife. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, whisk the sour cream and flour until smooth. With a slotted spoon, remove the chicken to a serving platter. Increase the heat under the skillet to medium and whisk in the sour cream mixture. Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring often, until the sauce has thickened slightly. Swon some of the sauce over the chicken. Chicken Paprikash is a really tasty Hungarian chicken dish flavoured with paprika. In Hungarian this dish is known as Paprikás Csirke. It's really easy to make and perfect comfort food for a cold winter day. In this video I show you how to make Hungarian Paprika Chicken, as well as little German dumplings to go with it - Spätzle (pronounced something like Shpetsly). These dumplings are made from flour and eggs, briefly boiled. And again, Späetzle is total comfort food.

Day 8/80 HUNGARY: I tried making Chicken Paprikash ????????
Today I tried making the famous Hungarian Chicken Paprikash. It kind of reminded me of Butter Chicken but a lot milder. Tasted good though! #shorts #hungary #chickenpaprikash
Ingredients
⁃ 4 tbsp of butter
⁃ 1 whole chicken, cut into pieces
⁃ 2 small onions, sliced
⁃ 3 tbsp of paprika
⁃ 1 tbsp of garlic paste
⁃ 2 tbsp of plain flour
⁃ 2 medium sized tomatoes, diced
⁃ salt, to taste
⁃ 1.5 cups of sour cream
⁃ 1 cup of water or chicken stock
⁃ fresh parsley, to garnish
Method
1. Add 2 tbsp of butter and once it melts, fry the chicken until brown before setting aside
2. In the same pot, add another 2 tbsp of butter and the onions
3. Sauté the onions and once they start turning translucent, add the paprika and garlic paste
4. Add the chicken back in
5. Add flour, water (or chicken stock), salt, tomatoes and sour cream
6. Mix well and simmer on low for around 30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through
7. Top with some fresh parsley
8. Enjoy!

2 large yellow onions - diced
5 cloves garlic - minced
