SMOKED HONYE GARLIC RIBS RECIPE
______________________________________________________________
INGREDIENTS:
- Ribs (spare ribs or back ribs)
- Mustard
- Postal Barbecue MAD COW Rub (see website to order)
- Postal Barbecue Original Rub (see website to order)
HOW TO MAKE HONEY GARLIC SAUCE
- 1/3 cup Soy Sauce
- 5-6 cloves minced garlic
- 1 tsp Minced Ginger
- 1/2 cup Honey
STEP #1
To prepare your smoked Honey Garlic Ribs, start by trimming your ribs as needed then removing the membrane on the back of the ribs. Once your ribs are trimmed to your liking, apply a slather of mustard onto the outside of the ribs followed by a light application of your favourite rib rub - On this cook we use a combination of our MAD COW and ORIGINAL rubs which was a perfect choice!
Step #2
With your ribs prepared, set up Camp Chef Pellet Grill for cooking around 250F and set your smoke setting to 7. With the Camp Chef Woodwind 24 set up, place the ribs into the pellet grill using the top rack. Once everything is in the grill and set up, close the lid and begin cooking.
Step #3
After 1.5 hours of smoking your ribs, open up the grill and begin to spritz the ribs with a combination of half water and half apple cider vinegar. This will help keep the ribs hydrated as they cook. Continue this process every 45-60 minutes.
Step #4
After about 4 - 4.5hours of cooking your ribs should be almost done and it's now time to brush on your first coating of honey garlic sauce (see recipe above). Once the ribs have been sauce, continue cooking for about 30 minutes then coat a second time at the last 10 minutes of the cook. Once the ribs are done, pull them off the grill, slice into them and enjoy!

Gourmet Takeout: Honey Garlic Spare Ribs - Tender, Crispy & Umami! - Chinese Recipe
Inspired by the Chinese takeout favourite, but elevated to gourmet status. Tender fried pork spare ribs with a sweet, sticky honey garlic sauce. Irresistible!
I've added a couple of secret techniques here that make them go from good to awesome. Steaming the ribs first before frying to make them super tender and easy to clean them off the bones. Then using the pork juice you get from the steaming in the honey garlic sauce, which adds extra umami. A light batter, also made from the pork juice, gives a bit of a crunch that makes them completely addictive. Takes a bit more time to do it this way but it's worth every minute!
