How To make Honey Baked Ham
-CAROLE ROCK (TSTW72B) 1 Smoked ready-to-eat ham,
-13 to 15 pounds 2 To 3 bottles gingerale
3 c Dry white wine
GLAZE: 5 tb Dijon mustard
1/3 c Honey
1/3 c Real maple syrup
SAUCE: 1 1/4 c Chicken stock
3 tb Real maple syrup
2 tb Dijon mustard
2 ts Cornstarch
Remove the rind and score with diagonal cross-cuts. Put ham in a close fitting kettle and cover with gingerale. Bring to boil, then simmer for 20 to 30 minutes. This step removes the too salty taste and adds a delicate flavor. Drain the gingerale, add ham to a roasting pan and pour the wine over it. Cover with foil and bake at 350~ for 1 hour. Combine the glaze ingredients. After the ham has baked 1 hour, brush the ham with the glaze, using all of the mixture. Return ham to oven (uncovered) and bake an additional 1-1/2 hours, or until internal temp reaches 140~. Baste occasionally after the glaze has "set", about 45 minutes. If the glaze gets too dark before the temp gets to 140 degrees, tent the ham with foil. When ham is done, transfer it to a serving plate and loosely cover with foil to keep warm. Skim the fat from the juices, reserving all the juice and caramelized bits from the glaze. Heat this to a boil along with 1 cup of the chicken stock (reserving 1/4 cup), syrup and mustard. Dissolve the cornstarch in 1/4 cup of reserved chicken stock and whisk it into
the sauce to thicken. The sauce should be a rich dark color. Strain and pour into a gravy boat. Serve the sauce over the ham. NOTE *** In step 1, "close fitting kettle" means the tightest fitting kettle you can fit the ham into, so it takes less gingerale to cover it.

OLD SCHOOL BROWN SUGAR HONEY GLAZED SPIRAL HAM
This is a nice sticky sweet flavorful spiral ham for your holiday enjoyment
RECIPE:
6-8 pound spiral ham
4 tbsp butter
1/2 cup honey
1/3 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup pineapple juice
2 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tbsp cornstarch
3 tsp water
Directions for glaze:
Add butter,honey,sugar,juice,mustard and butter in sauce pot and bring to a boil
Let simmer for 15 minutes,add cornstarch slurry(cornstarch and water)
Let simmer for 5 minutes and set aside for glazing ham
DIRECTIONS FOR COOKING HAM:
Place spiral ham on casserole dish and place covered in 350 degree oven for 20 minutes
Remove ham from oven and glaze with sauce completely ,making sure u get in between all layers
Place ham back in oven and cook covered for 15-20 minutes
Remove ham from oven and glaze ham one FINAL time and place back in oven UNCOVERED for 10 more minutes until ham has nice sticky look and glossy
Remove from oven and enjoy

DRY SUGAR MIX
1 Cup Sugar Honey Powder Blend -
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
⅛ teaspoon smoked paprika
⅛ teaspoon ground ginger
1/16 teaspoon ground cloves
GLAZE
1 tablespoon softened butter
1 tablespoon honey
¾ cup cup brown sugar
¼ teaspoon seasoned salt
¼ teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

½ teaspoon gelatin (dissolved in a small amount of warm water)
½ tablespoon cornstarch (mixed with a small amount of cold water to form a slurry)

If you’ve fallen in love with honey baked ham, try making it at home! We’ll teach you how to get that famous sugary crunch on your spiral honey ham.
There are a lot of recipes for copycat honey baked hams, but the best comes from a book full of “secret” recipes by Todd Wilbur. If you love trying to recreate restaurant classics at home, you should definitely take a look at his book. We tweaked his recipe slightly and are sharing how to get that crispy sugary crust on your homemade hams.
WHAT DOES SPIRAL CUT HAM MEAN?
Although some hams come unsliced, many hams you can buy at the store will say “spiral cut”. So what does this mean? It means there is one continuous cut around the bone of the ham. The slices are generally thin and even, making it really easy to serve to guests.
HOW DO YOU MAKE HONEY BAKED HAM?
There are 3 steps to remaking a honey baked ham.
Heat a spiral sliced ham.
Coat it with it with a sugary topping.
Heat that sugar topping until it melts and becomes “crusted” on the ham.
Ingredients
Spiral Baked Ham
½ cup honey
Sugar Topping:
¾ cup white sugar
¼ cup brown sugar
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
¼ teaspoon cloves
¼ teaspoon paprika
Dash of ginger
Dash of onion powder
Instructions
Place ham in the slow cooker.
Pour the honey all over the ham.
Heat through on low (about 3 hours).
Remove the ham and place on a baking sheet.
In a small bowl, mix together the sugar and spices.
Pat the sugar mixture all over the outside of the ham.
Place the ham under the broiler (make sure it is not too close to the top broiler. If it is, move it to a lower oven rack).
Set the oven to broil on high for 4-5 minutes. Watch the ham closely! When food is cooking under the broiler it can start to burn very quickly. You’re looking for the sugar to start bubbling and caramelizing.
The sugar will be VERY HOT so let the ham rest for a few minutes so that the sugar cools.
Honey Baked Ham is traditionally served cold, but you can serve this ham warm if you’d like.
