Full recipe
Crust 2 1/2 cups flour 1/2 cup unsalted butter 1/2 cup butter flavor shortening 1/3 cup ice water 5 peeled apples 3 peeled pears
Filling 1/4 cup butter (melted) 1 cup sugar 2/4 cup brown sugar 3 tbsp cornstarch 1 egg (beaten) 1 tbsp vanilla extract 1 tbsp cinnamon 1 tsp nutmeg
1. In a large bowl, combine flour and cold, cubed butter. 2. Use a pastry cutter or fork to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. 3. Slowly add ice water, 1 tablespoon at a time, and mix until the dough comes together. 4. Divide the dough into two equal portions, shape into disks, and wrap in plastic wrap. Chill for at least 1 hour. 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (190°C). 2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, sliced pears, butter, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract. Toss to coat the fruit evenly. 3. Roll out one of the chilled pie crust disks on a floured surface to fit the bottom of a 9-inch pie dish. 4. Place the rolled-out crust into the pie dish. 5. Add the fruit mixture into the pie crust. 6. Roll out the second pie crust disk and place it over the fruit filling. Trim any excess dough and crimp the edges to seal the pie. 7. Cut a few slits on the top crust to allow steam to escape. 8. Beat the egg and brush it over the top crust for a golden finish. 9. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbly. 10. Allow the pie to cool for a bit before serving. Enjoy your homemade apple and pear pie!

Delicious Pear Galette // Simple Pear Pie // Cozy Pie Recipe Perfect for Autumn // Autumn Dessert.
The simple combination of the dough and sweet pears is great at pear season. I like to use in this recipe not too ripe pears just to prevent the dough from begin to get wet while baking. Sprinkle the edge of the galette with sugar before baking and top with thin layer of jam after baking, and you'll get extra yummy dessert. I like to serve it warm with some lemon zest and scoop of vanilla ice cream and it is incredible and hard to resist.
