Easy Korean Pear Pie Recipe with Candied Ginger
⬇️ With less than 15 mins of actual preparation in the kitchen, this easy pear pie is perfect to whip up with friends over for the holidays! Besides Christmas classics like pecan pie recipe and apple pie recipe, this Korean Pear Pie with Candied Ginger is a light and refreshing dessert to end any decadent Christmas meal.

Feel free to dice up the pears for the pear filling and your favourite pastry recipes! But we're all about ease this Christmas, no shame in using store bought puff pastry. Can't find Korean Shingo pears? Just use your favourite pears.

Frozen Puff Pastry
1kg Korean Shingo Pears (2-3 pears)
100g Sugar
40g Candied Ginger (chopped)
3 tbsp Plain Flour
Zest and Juice From 1 lemon
Pinch of Salt
1 inch knob Grated Galangal
½ tsp Ground Cinnamon
½ tsp Ground Nutmeg

Today I am going to show you how to make my Gluten Free Pear Pie!
This recipe is perfect for fall or Thanksgiving, when pears are in season!!
The crust is super fast and easy to make, no rolling pin needed!
I use Bartlett pears for this recipe, but any pear will do!
Frozen pears can also be used, just make sure they are thawed and well drained.
I used Date sugar today, but any sugar will work. Date sugar is so great with fruit!!
You can also use your favorite nut in the crust. You can even add nuts to the topping!
Serve with whipped cream or ice cream!

For the GF crust: (Easy tart crust recipe in my cookbook)
1/2 cup Butter {113 grams}
1 1/4 cups GF Flour
1 Tbsp Date Sugar
1 Egg
1/4 tsp Salt
1/2 cup Walnuts
For the Pear filling:
5 1/2- 6 cups ripe Bartlett Pears, chopped {about 6-7 pears}
1/4 cup Honey {1/2 cup Sugar}
2 Tbsp Cornstarch
1 Tbsp Lemon juice
1/4 tsp Cinnamon
1/4 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Nutmeg
For the Streusel topping:
1 cup GF Flour
1/4 tsp Salt
2/3 cup Date Sugar {2/3 cup White or Brown Sugar}
6 Tbsp Butter {85 grams}
1 Tbsp Heavy Cream
Oven 375 F. Bake the pie for 35 minutes. Add the streusel topping, and bake another 30 minutes. If the top gets too brown, cove with foil.

If you love pear desserts, then you should try this absolutely delicious Pear Pie Recipe made from scratch. I'm showing you in this video how to make a perfect pie crust just with a few ingredients and an incredible tasty pear pie filling with cinnamon flavor. Such a perfect Thanksgiving Pie Recipe Idea!
Ingredients
Pie crust:
flour 450g.
a pinch of salt
sugar 3 tablespoons
very cold butter cubed 225g.
very cold water 175ml.
Pear filling:
4 large pears *peeled
sugar 150g.
corn starch 30g.
vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
allspice (cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger powder, and cloves) 1 teaspoon
Rhum or similar 1 tablespoon
zest of one lemon
Eggwash: 1 egg and a drop of milk
Instructions:
1. Peel off the pears and cut them into small pieces. Mix with sugar, corn starch, vanilla extract, spices, rum, and lemon zest. Then let to rest for 1 hour.
2. Mix the flour with cubed butter, salt, sugar, and cold water. Don't over mix / knead. Cover with food plastic wrap and let rest in the fridge for at least 1 hour.
3. Once the dough is cold enough, divide it into two halves. Roll one of the halves and place it on a greased pie tray. Pinch with the fork then place the pears (without adding the liquid).
4. Roll the second dough and cover the pie.
5. Brush with one egg and a drop of milk. Sprinkle some sugar and bake in the preheated oven at 180°C for 45-50 minutes.

Delicious Pear Galette // Simple Pear Pie // Cozy Pie Recipe Perfect for Autumn // Autumn Dessert.
The simple combination of the dough and sweet pears is great at pear season. I like to use in this recipe not too ripe pears just to prevent the dough from begin to get wet while baking. Sprinkle the edge of the galette with sugar before baking and top with thin layer of jam after baking, and you'll get extra yummy dessert. I like to serve it warm with some lemon zest and scoop of vanilla ice cream and it is incredible and hard to resist.
