Focaccia is a satisfying dish to make. Ours is topped with caramelised onion, bacon, and loads of fresh herbs. Make this when entertaining friends or family – they’ll thank you for it.

Focaccia Bread recipe - it’s simple and cheap to make. I promise you will never buy bread again. There are so many ways to use it, cut it open and place your favourite meats, cheeses, or salads inside.

Ingredients:
was 350ml, Updated to 440 ml water at room temperature.
4 g of active dry yeast.
400g of All Purpose (Bread Flour).
10g of sea salt .
30 ml extra virgin olive oil.
Focaccia filling:
2 g of sea salt.
10-20 ml Extra Virgin Olive oil.
Rosemary.
Instructions:
4g Active Dry Yeast.
Add 440 ml of Water to your Yeast .
Mix together well.
400g All Purpose or Bread Flour.
Mix together well.
Add 10g of sea salt.
Mix.
Add 30ml Olives Oil.
Mix oil into the dough.
cover the dough and 20-30 minutes rest.
Fold your dough 4 times from each side.

The dough will grow.
Grab a baking dish.
Pour olive oil into the baking dish and spread.
Place dough in baking pan.
Fold the dough and let rest for 20-30 minutes.

Put extra virgin olive oil over the dough.
Make holes in the dough with your fingers.
Use your fingertips flat on dough.
Grab a coarse/flakey sea salt and rosemary to finish topping.
To help grow, use unheated oven or table .
The resting time is 2-4 hours ( the more you wait the more BUBBLES you get)
Preheat your oven to 450F! Some ovens have an internal fan. Mine doesn’t have and it still bakes perfectly.
Place into oven for 18-25 minutes it should have nice crispy edges and top.

And consider adding some flavour variations, such as adding garlic or onion to the dough, or using different herbs and spices for the topping. You could also experiment with different types of cheese or meats for the filling.

Caramelised Onion & Rosemary Focaccia Bread
Italian Focaccia bread
ingredients:
500g Stronge bread flour
300ml Lukewarm water
1 Tbsp yeast
1 Tsp sugar
1 Tbsp salt
2 Red onions
3 Tbsp olive oil
Olives- fresh rosemary
(for topping)

Preheat the oven to 360 degrees F/180 degrees C.
Crumble the fresh yeast and add it to a bowl, add the sugar and 2-4 tablespoons of warm water over it, then combine them using a fork. Set aside.
Reserve 1 tablespoon of flour for later use. Put the remaining flour in a kitchen aid, then add the baking powder, and the yeast mixture.
Turn on your kitchen aid and mix everything on low speed. If needed, add 2-3 tablespoons of warm water to soften the dough.
Add 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil and continue to mix until you get e firm dough.
Flour your workspace and press and flatten your dough using your fingers. Give the dough an oval shape. Sprinkle diced onion and dried rosemary all over it.
Fold the dough once, then fold it again. Press it with your fingers, then lay it in an oval baking dish.
Drizzle the remaining vegetable oil on the dough and sprinkle some more dried herbs.
Bake for 40 minutes.

INGREDIENTS
500 g strong flour (W300, 12 g protein)
12 g fresh yeast OR 4-6 g active dry yeast (better 4g during summer or if your kitchen is warm)
1 tsp honey (or malt or sugar)
380 - 400 g lukewarm water
2 tbsp EVOO for the dough
2 tsp of salt
additional EVOO for the baking tray and the top
some water for the top
coarse salt for the top
EVOO = Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Preheat the oven to 275C - 530F, conventional mode, lowest rack.
Bake for 15-20 minutes.
Let the focaccia cool on a wire rack for at least 15 minutes.

3-1/2 cup flour
1 tsp salt
1-1/2 cup water, 110 degree F
1 tap sugar
1 package dry yeast (1-1/4 tsp)
1/4 cup olive oil
Put sugar and yeast in warm water, let sit til slightly frothy
Measure flour and salt
Add water yeast mix
Mix in olive oil
Mix and cover bowl, let rise an hour
Press onto tray, let rise again for 40 mins
Fold over a few times flatten on oiled baking tray , put finger holes across the dough . Top with kosher salt. Garlic. Rosemary then bake for 30 mins. It came out good! Thanks.

1 HOUR FOCACCIA! ????⏳
Soft and fluffy focaccia with a crispy and satisfying crust. Great for alongside pastas, for sandwiches and for sharing with friends and family. All in an hour from start to finish!
We've made plenty of focaccias the normal way with multiple folds, resting and patience. That always needs some planning ahead but we don't always have time (or the craving hasn't hit yet ????). Even though the real thing is always so delicious, in a pinch this works great!
FULL VIDEO:
Yield: 1 large/ 2 small focaccia
Prep time: 50m
Cook time: 10m
Ingredients:
400g Plain Flour
320ml Water (warm)
8g Salt
8g Sugar
7g Instant yeast (one sachet)
3 tbsp olive oil for greasing pan
3 tbsp olive oil for topping
Sea salt
Any herbs of choice (optional)
Garlic granules (optional)
Method:
1. Preheat oven to 250C.
2. Add water, sugar and yeast in a food processor and pulse till dissolved.
3. Add flour and salt to food processor and pulse till rough ball is formed.
4. Tip dough into large bowl, give 3-4 folds to form a compact dough, cover and leave to rise for 15 mins.
5. Grease large baking tray with 3 tbsp oil and tip dough into tray.
6. Stretch dough to the edges and cover and leave to rise for further 10 mins.
7. Add olive oil, salt and any toppings of choice and spread across the surface.
8. Dimple evenly with fingertips across the dough.
9. Leave to rise for final 10-15 mins.
10. Bake for 6-10 mins, until golden.
