How To make Deep Dish Ham Pie
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground mustard
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon dried minced onion
2 1/2 cups cubed fully cooked ham
1 cup frozen peas -- thawed
2 hard-cooked eggs -- chopped
Pastry for single-crust pie (8 inches)
Melt butter in a saucepan; stir in flour, salt, mustard and pepper until smooth. Gradually add milk and onion; bring to a boil. Cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Stir in ham, peas and eggs. Pour into an ungreased 8-in square or 11-in x 7-in x 2-in baking dish. On a floured surface, roll pastry to fit top of dish; place over filling. Seal and flute edges; cut slits in the top. Bake at 425F for 25 minutes or until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly.

Hello folks!
So today for tea I made these wonderful pasties. You could fill these pastry parcels with just about anything! I used leftover chicken and ham…and added leeks. Very easy to make and such a comforting midweek treat. Everything I used will be listed below.

What I used - Makes 4-6 pasties…depending on how big you make them!
* 2 Tablespoons of olive oil
* 1 Knob of butter - about a tablespoon
* 1 large leek - sliced
* 100g (3.5 oz) cooked shredded ham
* 150g (5 oz) cooked chicken
* 150ml (5 floz) Double cream, creme fraiche or heavy cream
* 1 Tablespoon wholegrain mustard
* 2 Teaspoons dried sage, tarragon or dill
* 370g (13 oz) Pack ready-rolled puff pastry - I used two
* 1 Beaten egg
* 2 tsp poppy seeds, black onion seeds or sesame seeds - whatever you prefer

This super easy Quiche Recipe is so delicious and simple to make. Quiche is one of my favorites because its so versatile. It works just as well for breakfast as it does for dinner! Feel free to be creative and switch it up with your favorite cheeses, vegetables, or meats to make it perfect suit your taste!

Ingredients:
1 pie crust refrigerated
6 large eggs
3/4 cup half and half
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 1/2 cups cooked ham chopped
1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
4 tbsp scallions
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375F and place frozen pie dish into refrigerator to thaw.
2. In a large bowl, mix together eggs, half and half, salt and pepper.
3. Once the pie crust is thawed, pierce the bottom with a fork then sprinkle the ham, scallions, and 1 cup of the mozzarella and cheddar mix into the pie crust. Pour the egg mixture over the top and sprinkle the remaining cup of cheese on top.
4. Bake for 25 minutes covered then cover with aluminum foil for the remaining 10 minutes if the crust starts to brown too much.
5. Once the center is completely set, let cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.

The Bento Buster, a Kiwi in Japan, shows how to made a New Zealand Bacon & Egg Pie - It's a Kiwi classic! To bake the pie in the the oven, prepare it as in the video in a pie dish then back at 200c for 25 - 30 minutes or until the pastry is flaky and golden brown. I used a Japanese pie maker called My Bistro (only $12)
Ingredients:
Puff pastry pie sheets
eggs
mushrooms
green peas
slices of bacon
finely chopped green onion
pepper to taste
