How To make Creole Chicken/Crockpot

frying chicken, cut up

green pepper, chopped

green onions, chopped

can tomatoes (16 ounces) undrained

can tomato paste (6 ounces)
1/4
pound
ham, cubed
1
teaspoon
salt
1
hot pepper sauce, to taste
1/2
pound
smoked sausage, sliced
3
cup
rice, cooked
Directions:
In the crockpot, combine the chicken, pepper, onions, tomatoes, tomato paste, ham, salt, and pepper sauce. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours. Turn control to high and add sausage and cooked rice. Cover and cook on high for 15 to 20 minutes.

1/2 cup parmesan cheese

Sausage and chicken creole (crockpot)
1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts
12 ounces smoked Andouille sausage, cut into small rounds
1 cup chopped onions
2 cloves minced garlic
1 1/4 cup low sodium chicken broth
1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
3 tablespoons tomato paste
1/2 cup tomato sauce
2 teaspoons Creole seasoning
1/4 teaspoon cayenne
green pepper
1 tablespoon brown sugar
(Optional to use)
14 ounce can black beans, rinsed and drained
1/2 cup sliced green onions for topping
brown rice for serving
Sour cream
Cheese
Place the essential ingredients in the crockpot. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3 hours.
Shred the chicken directly in the crockpot to your desired texture. Add the extras, if you want, and cover and cook for another 20-30 minutes. This is also a great time to make your rice, if you’re serving it with rice. When everything is ready, taste the chicken mixture and season with salt. Serve the creole chicken over rice and topped with green onions.

Creole Crockpot Chicken
Ingredients
3-4 pounds of chicken thighs
Kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper
1 (8 ounce) can of tomato sauce
1 cup of classic Coca-cola
2 tablespoons of Creole seasoning, or your favorite Cajun/Creole seasoning, to taste
1 teaspoon of dried basil
1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder 1 cup of chopped onion
1/2 cup of coarsely chopped green bell pepper
1/4 cup of chopped celery
1/2 cup of sliced mushrooms, optional
Fettuccine pasta, cooked al dente
Instructions
Remove skin from chicken to reduce excess fat if desired. Season the chicken on both sides generously with salt and pepper; add to a 6 quart slow cooker. Whisk together the tomato sauce, Coke, Creole seasoning, basil and garlic powder. Add the onion, bell pepper and celery and whisk. Pour over the chicken, cover and cook on low for about 6 hours. Add fresh, sliced mushrooms if desired, in last 10 minutes of cooking. Skim off any excess fat from the top and spoon some of the sauce into the cooked and drained pasta to coat, then serve the chicken alongside the noodles. Add more salt and pepper if needed...it gets better if eaten the next day.
