now a holiday tradition at our house! You can substitute english walnuts for the pecans. You can also use rum instead of bourbon. I have tried several combinations, but find the original the best to my taste. Natalie (Formatted by Rosalind Beck, ggkf98a) ~:

Rum Ball Recipe – SUPER Strong For Those Who DARE!
This chocolate twisted cookie rum ball recipe is a fresh bite for dessert and for holiday gifting to friends or yourself. Gourmet cookie recipe? It might be too intense. But it’s a lot of fun.
Made with 151 proof rum, these rum balls can be nibbled but I don’t recommend popping one in your mouth - people who do that generally spit them out because they are so strong.
Follow along with me as I process, combine and animate the rum into rich, burning-hot cookies. From chopping chocolate into pieces, to grinding them with cookies, and then combining with ground hazelnuts and (of course) rum, I cover all the steps to make it easy for you to create them. I also try to light one on fire…it sort of works.
For two more kinds of alcohol balls - port with dried cherries and orange liquor with white chocolate - check out another video on this channel: All three are ideal for surprising, high octane Christmas gifts, holiday gifts, New Year’s gifts. Or throw them in the freezer for yourself.
Have a killer idea for another COOKING plus ALCOHOL recipe? I am always looking for new ideas so drop it in the comments - thank you!

Stephanie Jaworski of Joyofbaking.com demonstrates how to make Bourbon Balls. The decorative look of Bourbon Balls makes them a festive addition to any Christmas tray. Bourbon Balls are a sweet and chewy, no-bake confection made from a combination of finely crushed cookies (traditionally vanilla wafers), confectioners sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, chopped pecans or walnuts, held together with a little corn syrup and bourbon. It's easy to like Bourbon Balls since they taste great, they are quick and easy to make, and they only improve with age.
