How To make Chocolate Almond Pie
1 cup flour
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup melted butter
1/2 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
2 eggs
1 unbaked pie shell in glass pie pan
Sauce: 2 squares unsweetened chocolate -- ( 1 ounce)
3/4 cup boiling water
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup butter
1/2 cup chopped almonds
Chocolate shavings for garnish Whipped cream for garnish
Preheat oven to 350. Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Combine butter, milk, and extract. Add dry ingredients to wet and beat 2 minutes. Add eggs and beat 2 minutes longer. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Melt chocolate in boiling water. Add sugar and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla. Pour sauce over pie batter. Sprinkle nuts over the top. Bake 55-60 minutes or until done. Garnish with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.

This silky smooth Dark Chocolate silk Pie with Chocolate almond Crust is surely going to be crowd pleaser. Free of Dairy, egg, corn, soy, gluten. Can be made corn-free with a different starch such as arrowroot or tapioca.
The filling is coconut milk and melted dark chocolate. The crust is almonds, oats, cocoa and just a little oil. Add more or less cocoa to the crust to chocolatey preference. You can make the filling with blended up silken tofu and melted chocolate as well. I like mine with coconut milk :). The filling melts in the mouth and the crust adds another punch of chocolate just when you thought the silky chocolate is all gone. Look at the slice below.. that filling and the crust!

Almond Cream is a versatile staple in the pastry kitchen. I'm going to show you the steps in preparing this simple and versatile recipe. It is made with equal parts of sugar, butter, almonds, and eggs with a bit of flour or cornstarch as well. It is used for a multitude of pastry and dessert applications such as croissants aux amandes and in making Crème Frangipane. It is also used to fill galette des rois, pithiviers and frangipane tarts.
Note: Almond cream cannot be consumed raw. It is meant to be baked.

Chocolate Almond Pie
Dreamy Chocolate Pie
Adapted from award winning pie recipe, easy and delicious!
Ingredients #1: NO BAKE CRUST
1½ cup raw almonds
1 cup medjool dates, pitted
1/3 cup cocoa powder
2 Tbsp ground flax (optional)
½ tsp almond extract (optional)
½ tsp salt
3 Tbsp non-dairy milk (add more as needed)
Directions: In a food processor, process the nuts until small. Add dates, cocoa, flax and salt and pulse process again to combine. Add milk until the mixture will stick together. Line a pie plate with mixture, pressing up sides to fill.
Ingredients #2: FILLING
1 cup non-dairy chocolate chips
12 oz silken tofu, firm or extra firm
½ cup pure maple syrup
1 cup natural almond butter
Directions: In a food processor, combine tofu and maple syrup. Process until smooth. Add nut butter and process again until smooth. Melt chocolate using a double boiler or microwave in a glass dish one minute at a time until melted. Add melted chocolate to processor and combine well scraping down sides as needed. Pour onto pie crust and chill several hours until firm. Decorate with fresh berries or nuts. Slices and freezes well.
