How To make Cabbage, Carrot and Onion Curry
1/2 sm Cabbage
3 md Carrots
2 lg Onions
1 tb Ghee
1/2 ts Cumin
1/4 ts Turmeric
1/4 ts Mustard seeds
1/4 ts Chili powder
1/4 ts Coriander
1/4 ts Cinnamon powder
Salt, to taste Cut the cabbage into small pieces. In a separate container cut carrots into thin rounds. Peel onions and cut into small pieces. In a medium-sized pan saute the onion with butter or margarine. When onions feel soft, add mustard seeds. 30 seconds after that add cumin powder, coriander powder, and turmeric powder. Mix the spices. Drop carrots in pan and saute. Put the lid on for 5 minutes. Now add cabbage. Mix all the vegetables together. Add cinnamon powder, salt, and chili powder. Put the lid on. Wait for 5 minutes. Turn over mixture in pan. Make sure the spices don't stick to the bottom of the pan. Put the lid back on and leave it another 8 minutes. Ingredients
1. Cabbage - As Required
2. Carrot - 1
3. Thin Coconut Milk - 3/4 cups
4. Green Chilli - 1
5. Little Onion
6. Little Curry Leaves
7. Very Little Curry Powder
8. Salt - As Required
9. Pepper - 1/4 tsp
10. Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
11. Oil / Ghee - As required
12. Little onion
13. Thick Coconut Milk - 1/4 cups
SRI LANKAN CURRY POWDER RECIPE
On a mixer grinder add
1. Cumin Seeds - 1/2 cup
2. Cardomom Pods - 4 to 5
3. Cinnamon - 4 to 5
4. Cloves - 3 to 4
5. Salt - 1 tsp
And grind it until it turns into a fine powder.
Afterwards, add
1. Ginger - 2 Small Pieces
2. Garlic Cloves - 3 to 4
And now, grind it again until it turns into a fine powder.

Cabbage and Carrot Fry Recipe l Cabbage and Carrot Poriyal Recipe

A healthy and tasty, simple stir fry combination of cabbage and carrot poriyal served as a side dish for South Indian meal with steamed rice, sambar and rasam, mainly in Tamil nadu.
INGREDIENTS
Carrot - 3/4 cup
Cabbage - 2 cup
Oil - 2 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Dry red chilli - 2
Curry leaves - 1 sprigs
Green chilli - 1
Asafoetida pinch
Soaked Chana dal - 3 to 4 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Onion - 1 (medium size)
Turmeric powder - 1/3 tsp
Himalaya Salt to taste
Coconut - 3 tsp
Coriander leaves - 2 tsp
PREPARATION
1. Heat oil in a pan, crackle mustard seeds, add urad dal saute until turns golden. Add pinch of hing, dry red chilli, green chilli, curry leaves saute until curry leaves become crisp. Add chana dal (Soaked for 30 minutes in water). Saute for minutes.
2. Add cumin seeds and stir well. Add finely chopped onion saute until turns translucent. Add salt and turmeric powder mix well.
3. Add chopped carrot and cabbage and saute for 5 to 6 minutes. Add little water mix well and cook covered for 8 to 10 minutes. Then open a lid and cook until water completely absorbed.
4. Once its cooked add shredded coconut, coriander leaves. Mix well and switch off the stove and serve the Poriyal hot with rice and sambar.
