How To make Barley and Oat Bread
1 1/2 Lb Loaf:
(1 lb loaf):
2 1/4 Tsp Active Dry Yeast :
(1 1/2 t)
2 1/2 C Bread Flour (1 2/3 C)
3/4 C Barley Flour :
(1/2 C)
1/3 C Rolled Oats (1/4 C)
3 Tbsp Wheat Germ :
(2 T), I omitted
3 Tbsp Nonfat Dry Milk Powder (2 T)
3 Tbsp Orange Zest :
grated, (2 T)
3 Tbsp Sesame Seeds optional, (2 T)
1 1/2 Tsp Salt :
(1 t)
3 Tbsp Honey (2 T)
1 1/2 Tsp Wonderslim :
*NOTE, (1/2 T)
1 1/3 C Water -- (3/4 C + 2 T)
*NOTE: The original recipe used 1 1/2 T vegetable oil (1 T).
A moist and chewy loaf like this one makes good peanut butter, tuna, or fresh ham sandwiches and excellent toast. It goes well with vegetable and meat soups, especially Scotch broth.
Add all ingredients in the order suggested by your bread machine manual and process on the basic bread cycle according to the manufacturer's directions. Eat warm - but not hot - or cool.

Ingredients:
350g fine white pearl barley
Enough boiling water to cover the barley , mix very well
Cover and leave for 2 hours
After 2 hours add 1 tbsp of instant yeast
1 tbsp of honey and little bit of warm water
Whole meal flour, I didn't measure, just keep adding flour until you form a dough
1/2 tbsp of salt
Knead for 5 minutes, the dough should be sticky
Add few tbsp of olive oil
Kover the dough and let rise until doubled in size
Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C until golden brown
المكونات:
350 جرام شعير أبيض ناعم
ما يكفي من الماء المغلي لتغطية الشعير ، وتخلط جيدا
يغطى ويترك لمدة 2 ساعة
بعد 2 ساعة إضافة 1 ملعقة كبيرة من الخميرة الفورية
1 ملعقة كبيرة عسل وقليل من الماء الدافئ
دقيق كامل ، لم أقم بقياسه ، فقط استمر في إضافة الدقيق حتى تشكل عجين
1/2 ملعقة كبيرة ملح
يعجن لمدة 5 دقائق ، يجب أن تكون العجينة لزجة
أضف بضع ملاعق كبيرة من زيت الزيتون
ارفعي العجينة واتركيها ترتفع حتى يتضاعف حجمها
تخبز في فرن محمى على حرارة 220 درجة مئوية حتى يصبح لونها بنيا ذهبيا
