How To make Baked Bean Cassoulet
1 pound dried red or kidney beans
6 cups water
1 medium onion
chopped
1/4 cup molasses
15 ounces can tomato sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
12 ounces package smoked sausage links :
cut into 1" slices
In slow-cooking pot, soak beans in water overnight. Cover and cook on high for 2 to 3 hours or until tender. Drain, saving liquid. Combine 1 cup of liquid with onion, molasses, tomato sauce, salt, mustard, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix with drained beans in slow-cooking pot. Cover and cook on low for 10 to 12 hours. Add sausage the last hour of cooking.

Sausage & Bean Cassoulet #shorts
Bang for ya Buck Episode 3.
Sausage & Bean Cassoulet
Serves 4 Greedy boys & girls.
Ingredients:
- 8 Sausages
- 1 white onion (chopped)
- 1 red pepper (chopped)
- 1 clove garlic (sliced)
- 1 sprig of Rosemary
- 500g cherry tomatoes
- 1 tin white beans
- Salt (to taste)
- Cracked black pepper (to taste)
- 1 jar of pitted green olives
Method:
- In a large, deep frying pan on a medium heat, fry your sausages until evenly browned.
- Remove the sausages from the pan, then (using the cooking oils left in the pan) fry off your onion and garlic before adding the red pepper.
- Continue to fry until lightly caramelised, then add your cherry tomatoes.
- Cook until blistered then press them slightly with a wooden spoon until they give their juices.
- Cook down on a medium heat with a sprig of Rosemary until you achieve a sauce consistency.
- Stir in your white beans and place your sausages on top.
- With a lid on bake in the oven for 20 minutes at 160c before serving family style on the table with a crusty loaf of bread, some buttery potatoes, or simply on it’s own.. enjoy!
