White Cheese Strata By Cooking for Busy People with Dawn Hall
White Cheese Strata 25 minutes
This is a special treat for cheese lovers. They will never know this recipe is low-fat.
Ingredients
12 eggs, divided
1/4 cup fat-free skim milk
8 slices light reduced-calorie white bread
1 (8-ounce) package shredded fat-free mozzarella cheese
1/3 cup shredded parmesan cheese
Ground black pepper
Instructions for entrée:
Place oven racks in the middle of the oven and preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
In a large mixing bowl, beat together with an electric mixer 4 whole eggs, 8 egg whites*, and the fat-free skim milk.
Generously spray an 8 x 8-inch baking dish with butter-flavored cooking spray.
Pour half of the egg mixture in the bottom of the pan.
Place 4 slices of bread on top of the egg mixture and press the bread into the egg mixture.
Place the mozzarella cheese on top of bread and egg.
Place 4 more slices of bread on top of the cheese.
Pour the remaining egg mixture on top of the bread.
Place the shredded parmesan cheese on top of the egg mixture.
Sprinkle lightly with ground black pepper.
Bake in the oven for 17 minutes.
Remove from the oven and place in microwave for 2 minutes to finish cooking.

Instructions to prepare the suggested meal
Set the timer for 30 minutes.
30 minutes before the meal
Place the oven racks in the middle of the oven, and preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Begin making the White Cheese Strata according to the directions.
20 minutes before the meal
Place the White Cheese Strata in the oven.
Make the Spiced Ham Steaks according to the directions.
15 minutes before the meal
Place the Spiced Ham Steaks in the oven to bake.
Make the Cinnamon and Spice Candied Peach Punch according to the directions. Serve warm.
3 minutes before the meal
Remove the strata from the oven, and finish cooking in the microwave
for 2 minutes.
Cut the grapefruits (or oranges) into wedges and place them on a plate to serve with the meal.
