1 1/2 c Mung bean sprouts 1 lb Ground beef 1 Egg Salt and pepper to taste Mayonnaise Ketchup 6 Hamburger buns -Tools Mixing bowl lg Frying pan Spatula Aluminum foil Platter Wash sprout (worms) with warm water. Using clean hands, mix one cup of the sprouts, the ground beef and the raw egg together in a bowl. Reserve the remaining srpouts until later. Form burgers into six patties. Place in fry pan and srpinkle with salt and pepper. With an adult's help, cook on medium heat until they are well browned underneath. Carefully turnthe patties season again and cook until the second side is well browned. Place on open buns and serve with the worms sprinkled on top as a garnish. Don't forget the pus and blood. Serves 6 worm slurpers. Sicko serving suggestion: Use a clean hole ouncher to punch holes in lettuce garnish. Bug Burger makes a Bugburger: Episode 2 Buffalo Worms and Crickets
This is Bug Burgers second bugburger recipe. Based on a recipe by Crunchy critters, but with slight alterations.
Cooking with Ramen (instant noodles) #5: Swedish Meatball burgers (a.k.a. Halloween Worm Burgers)
These look kind of wormy when they are mixed up, but taste good. You can't really taste the noodles because they don't have much flavour.
3 tablespoons of butter divided
1 small onion chopped
1/4 cup milk
2 packages ramen noodles, any flavour crushed
1 egg
1 tsp salt divided
1/2 tsp black pepper, divided
1/4 tsp ground allspice
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1 can (14 oz beef broth)
1/2 cup whipping cream or milk
1. Melt 2 tbsp butter in medium saucepan over medium heat, add onion and cook until translucent. Reduce heat, add milk. Bring to a simmer. Add crushed noodles remove from heat.
2. whish egg, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper and allspice in large bowl, add noodle mixture and stir. Add beef sir until well blended and form into 6 patties
3. Pan fry, grill or broil the burgers until done.
4. Melt remaining 1 tbsp of butter in saucepan, add flour, cook until lightly browned add broth and cream (or milk) bring to a boil and simmer 2 minutes until thickened. Stir in remaining salt and pepper.
5. Serve burgers on rolls with cream sauce and cranberry sauce if desired.
