How To make Vanilla Sponge Cake
1 c Cake flour; sifted
1/2 c Sugar; divided
4 Egg yolks
1/2 ts Vanilla extract
10 Egg whites
1 ts Cream of tartar
1/2 ts Salt
3/4 c Sugar
1/2 ts Vanilla extract
Recipe by: Southern Living
Sift flour and 1/2 cup sugar together 3 times; set aside. Beat egg yolks at high speed of an electric mixer 4 minutes or until thick and lemon colored. Add 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract; beat at medium speed an additional 5 minutes or until thick. Set aside. Beat egg whites until foamy. Add cream of tartar and salt; beat until soft peaks form. Add 3/4 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons at a time; continue beating until stiff peaks form. Sprinkle one-fourth of flour mixture over egg whites; gently fold it in. Repeat procedure with remaining flour, adding one-fourth of the mixture at a time. Fold 1/2 teaspoon vanilla into the egg white mixture. Gently fold beaten egg yolks into egg white mixture. Pour the mixture into an ungreased 10-inch tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly touched. Invert pan carefully. Let cake cool in pan 40 minutes. Loosen cake from sides of one 10-inch cake. -----

INGREDIENTS & PROCESS:
1 CUP FLOUR
1 TSPN BAKING POWDER
SIEVE THE FLOUR FOR 2 TIMES
4 EGGS
SEPARATE THE EGG YOLK
BEAT FOR 1 MIN.
¾ CUP SUGAR (ADD GRADUALLY)
BEAT UNTIL SUGAR DISSOLVE
EGG YOLK
¼ CUP OIL
BEAT FOR 30 SEC.
ADD THE FLOUR MIXTURE GRADUALLY
1 TSPN VANILLA ESSENCE
8 INCH MOULD
GREASE OIL
PLACE A BAKING PAPER
BRUSH OIL
POUR THE BATTER
PLACE A PAN WITH WIRE STAND
PRE-HEAT FOR 5 MIN.
PLACE THE MOULD
COOK FOR 35-40 MIN.
BAKE FOR 180 DEGREE FOR 35-40 MIN.

How to make My Vanilla Sponge Cake Recipe - Tutorial
Hi and welcome back to my kitchen. So you have been asking for the recipe for my vanilla sponge cakes that I use in quite a lot of my video tutorials and here it is!!
In this video I will give you all the ingredients to bake my fluffy 6 inch round cake made up of 4x 1 inch layers covered in vanilla buttercream.
I hope you love the recipe and find it as delicious as I do!
The ingredients you will need to make this 6 inch cake are:
12oz / 340g – Self Raising Flour
12oz/ 340g – Butter
12oz/ 340g – Caster Sugar
4 eggs
2tbsp – Vanilla Essence / Flavouring
I then bake my cake in 2x 6 inch round cake tins for around 45 minutes on the middle shelf of a normal oven at 180 degrees Celsius.
For the buttercream you will need:
18oz/ 500g – Icing Sugar
9oz/ 250g – Butter
1tbsp – Vanilla Essence / Flavouring
2.5tbsp – Milk
