How to Make a Chocolate Peanut Butter Surprise Cake
How to Make a Chocolate Peanut Butter Surprise Cake
I love this pan! It is such fun to decide on different combinations to use! For this video, I am making peanut butter truffles to go on the inside of the surprise wells. Please subscribe to this channel if you enjoy new recipes and cooking.
For this recipe, I used a box cake mix and followed the directions for 9 round pans for baking. For the peanut butter truffles, I used a small batch because there are 8 wells to fill and the big section in the center. I am not a cake decorator, but this recipe and cake pan helped me feel that I could make something special. You can shop for this pan and many other kitchen tools here:
I love cooking for and feeding my family! From daily snacks to Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, it is all so fulfilling for me to be able to give them this gift. Many times throughout the years other responsibilities have gotten in the way of me being able to cook for my family. Sometimes, it would mean that as a school teacher, I would get to feed other people’s families. I loved that too. The mission of Pampered Chef is “to provide cooking tools that give people more confidence in the kitchen, recipes that help families enjoy mealtimes together, and a business opportunity that makes the everyday better for our consultants.” I had never intended to be in direct sales, but after learning that part of Pampered Chef’s mission matched with my passion feeding families I gave it a first thought.
I have always been impressed by the quality of the tools and cookware that I have seen from Pampered Chef and I knew that my customers would not be disappointed in the products that I was offering and I would be happy to put my name behind Pampered Chef. I FINALLY took a look at how Pampered Chef could help “make my everyday better” as a consultant.
Since I started full-time as a consultant in November of 2020, I have found a new direction for my time working at home. Not only do I get to help others make memories, create traditions, and build richer lives with their families, but I can do the same for my OWN.
I was a Performing Arts teacher for 17 years here in Missouri. I went to college at Lambuth University (back in the day) in Jackson, TN, where I met my husband, Matt. We have been married for 23 years and live in Missouri. In our spare time, we enjoy hiking, camping, and traveling to National Parks throughout the US. Pampered Chef has made it so we have more of that “spare time” to spend doing our favorite things. I am always excited to talk with others about being part of the best team I know. If you think you might want to explore Pampered Chef, I would love to talk with you.
Peanut Butter Cake (with THE best Peanut Butter Frosting EVER)
Intro and end graphic by DaBros Philippines!
This recipe for peanut butter cake with peanut butter frosting was adapted from a recipe found in a Delish magazine. The cake in the magazine was twice as thick and I found it to be too much cake and a little on the dry side.
Cake:
1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
6 tbsp softened butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 white sugar
2 eggs
6 tbsp peanut butter
1/4 cup sour cream
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
6 tbsp milk
1/2 cup chocolate chips (mini or regular sized)
Blend flour, baking powder and salt together and set aside.
Cream together the butter and sugars.
Blend in eggs, peanut butter, sour cream, vanilla.
Add dry ingredients and milk alternately, in 2-3 additions until combined.
Stir in 1/2 cup mini or regular sized chocolate chips.
Spread into the bottom of a 9x13 greased baking dish and bake at 350F for 20-25 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with just a few moist crumbs.
Allow to cool completely. Frost with frosting.
Frosting:
1-8oz block cream cheese at room temperature
4 tbsp butter softened
1 1/4 cups peanut butter
2 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
pinch salt
2 tbsp milk
Blend cheese, butter and peanut butter together until smooth.
Blend in vanilla, milk and powdered sugar.
Toppings:
1/2 cup peanut butter melted
1/2 to 1 cup chopped peanut butter
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
