Texas Sheet Cake
This is a moist sheet cake that the wet ingredients are boiled to make the batter.
Cake:
2 sticks butter
1 cup water
4 tbsp cocoa powder
2 1/4 cup flour
2 cups sugar
1 tsp soda
2 eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk or prepared milk
1 tsp vanilla
Frosting:
1 stick butter
1/3 cup milk
4 tbsp cocoa powder
16 Oz of powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla

Cake
2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups sugar
1/4 tsp salt
4 Tbsp cocoa, heaping
2 sticks butter, melted
1 cup boiling water
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
Icing
1/2 cup chopped pecans, optional
1 3/4 sticks butter, melted
4 Tbsp cocoa, heaping
6 Tbsp whole milk
1 tsp vanilla
3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Spray with baking spray a 13X18 sheet pan
In mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar salt.
In sauce pan, melt butter. Add cocoa. Stir together. Add boiling water, allow to boil for 30 seconds. Turn heat off. Pour over flour mixture, stir lightly to cool.
In measuring cup, pour buttermilk, add beaten eggs, baking soda, and vanilla. Stir into butter/chocolate mixture. Pour into sheet pan. Bake 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, make icing. Chop pecans finely, if using. Melt butter in saucepan. Add cocoa, stir, turn off heat. Add milk, vanilla, and powdered sugar. Stir together. Add pecans. Pour over warm cake.
