Hey guys and welcome to another video! with the holidays right around the corner I wanted to share my sweet potato pie recipe with you all. This pie is seriously the business and will have people forgetting all about Patti LaBells pie. But please be warned these pies are addicting so make them at your own risks lol hope you enjoy.
1 Pie Dough
All-purpose flour for dusting
8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted, divided
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar, divided
Kosher salt
2 large orange-fleshed sweet potatoes (about 1 3/4 pounds)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1/4 cup half-and-half
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg

Grandma Ethel Mae Porter's Sweet Potato Pie
SERVING:
Makes two pies
INGREDIENTS:
-2 Pie crusts (I use pre-made refrigerator shells – but homemade is fantastic)
-3 large cans sweet potatoes – drained and mashed
-2 ½ cups sugar
-6 eggs
-2 cans evaporated milk
-Vanilla – generous tablespoon
-All Spice – 1 ½ teaspoons
-Nutmeg – 1 teaspoon
-Ground Ginger – 1 teaspoon
-Cinnamon – 1 teaspoon
-Ground Cloves – ½ teaspoon
-1 stick butter – melted
-Dash of salt
DIRECTIONS:
-Prepare pie plates with pre-made pie crust and fancy up the edges
-In electric mixer, blend mashed potatoes – getting out as many of the chunks as possible.
-Add sugar and blend.
-Add eggs, two at a time, and blend.
-Add all spices, blend
-Add melted butter and blend – then add one can of evaporated milk. Depending on texture (you want it to be the consistency of a thick soup – add the second can – as much as you want to.)
-Pour into pie shells and bake for one hour. (You may want to cover lightly with foil after about 15 minutes to keep the top from getting too brown.)
-Check with knife after 1 hour. It should come out clean. You may need an extra 15 minutes.

(In oven 350 F for 1 hour)
1/2 cup heavy cream or milk
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 pinch of salt
****For Crust
1 pack of graham Crackers about 10 to 14 Crackers
2 Tbsp. of sugar
1 tbsp. Mixed spice or cinnamon
6 Tbsp. melted butter
