1/3 c Butter; softened 1 ts Vanilla extract 3/4 c Light brown sugar; firm pack 1 Egg 1 1/4 c Sifted flour 1/2 ts Salt 1/4 ts Baking powder 1/2 ts Baking soda 1/2 c Sour cream 36 Pitted dates 36 Walnut halves Icing: 2 tb Butter; melted 1 c Powdered sugar 1 ts Vanilla 1 tb Sour cream Cream butter and vanilla; gradually beat in sugar. Add egg and beat until light. Sift dry ingredients, and add alternately with sour cream. Stuff dates with walnut halves, and roll in dough. When well covered, drop from a fork onto a well-greased cookie sheet. Bake in preheated 400~ oven for about 10 minutes. When cold, spread with icing. ICING: Blend ingredients together. -----

Easy Dates Cookies/ Cookies Stuffed with Dates
Easy Dates Filling Cookies
First pre-heat the over to 325F
For the cookie dough we will need:
1 2/3 cups of all purpose flour (265 g) 1 stick of soft butter (113.4 g) 1 tbsp sugar 1 tbsp vanilla extract 1 tbsp orange blossom water (optional) 1 egg at room temperature 1 tsp baking powder
For the filling: 1 cup of date paste 1 tbsp of roasted almond powder (optional) 1 tsp of cinnamon 1 tbsp of orange blossom water Powdered sugar
Follow the video instructions of how to make the cookies. Place them on your prepared cookie sheets and bake in preheated oven for approximately 12-15 minutes. Take them out when they are just BARELY starting to turn brown in the bottom of the cookies. NOTE: The date cookies don’t change the color when the are ready! Make sure to check them at 12 minutes if they are still white in the bottom let them bake for an extra 3 minutes. Let cookies cool completely before sprinkling the powdered sugar. Enjoy ????
