How To make Spicy Pumpkin Pie
1 Pastry shell, 9"
1 1/2 c Pumpkin; canned
2 Eggs; beaten
1 c Low-fat milk;
3 tb Liquid cal-free sweetener *
2 tb Brown sugar; packed
1 ts Ground cinnamon;
1/2 ts Ground nutmeg;
1/2 ts Ground ginger;
1/4 ts Salt
1 pn Ground cloves;
Light vanilla ice cream 7%bf * The most common liquid sweetener in Canada is SugarTwin. 3 tb. is the sweetness equivalent of 12 tb sugar or 3/4 cup. Prick pastry shell with a fork. Bake in 450 F oven for 8 min. Stir together pumpkin, egg, milk, sweetener, sugar and seasonings. Pour into partially baked pie shell. Bake in 350 F oven for 50 min or until centre is almost set. Cool slightly and then refrigerate. Cut into 8 wedges and serve each with 2 tb. light vanilla ice cream. Preparation 15 min, cook 50 min. 1/8 pie with 2 tb light vanilla ice cream, 173 calories 20 g

Ingredients
1 Tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 3/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon ground allspice
Instructions

Use in recipes that call for pumpkin spice or pumpkin pie spice (use the amount called for in the recipe that you are following). Store leftovers in an airtight container. Pumpkin pie spice will keep for months.
What is the Difference Between Allspice and Pumpkin Pie Spice?
Pumpkin Spice uses allspice as one of its ingredients, but they are not the same thing. Allspice is a dried, unripe fruit from Mexico and Central America. Pumpkin spice is the combination of all of the spices listed above, so please don't try to substitute one for the other.
I've gotten a lot of e-mails asking me if people can substitute pumpkin spice for allspice, so I wanted to be sure I cleared that up!

Spiced Pumpkin Pie, Thanksgiving favorite spiced up and awesomely delicious. Recipe below.
When mid to late October comes, I start my holiday prep. And that means, I start planning what pies I want to have on my table. I always have pecan pie and egg custard; those are staples at our house. However, we like to add something different as well. This year Stephanie came up with this Spiced Pumpkin Pie that is out of this world delicious. I hope you will give these a try and let us know if you do. Recipe below.

Ingredients:
2 unbaked pie crusts
2 cups pumpkin puree
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs plus 1 egg yolk
1 Tbsp plus 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 heaping tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1 Tbsp vanilla
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine spices together and set aside. In a large bowl, mix pumpkin, heavy cream, eggs, sugars, vanilla and salt. Add spices and mix well. Add to pie crusts. Bake 1 hour or until center is slightly jiggly. Depending on your oven, you may have to bake longer. Pie will puff up and then you know to check it for the jiggle.
