How To make Salted Peanut Chews
Crust: 1 1/2 c All-purpose flour
2/3 c Firmly packed light brown
-sugar 1/2 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Salt
1/4 ts Baking soda
1/2 c Butter or margarine;
-softened 1 ts Vanilla
2 Egg yolks
3 c Miniature marshmallows
Topping: 2/3 c Corn syrup
1/4 c Butter or margarine
2 ts Vanilla
12 oz Peanut butter chips
2 c Crispy rice cereal
2 c Salted peanuts
Recipe by: Simple Summer Recipes Heat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. In large bowl, combine all crust ingredients except marshmallows on low speed until crumbly. Press firmly in bottom of ungreased 13x9" pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until light golden brown. Remove from oven. Immediately sprinkle with marshmallows. Return to oven for 1-2 minutes or until marshmallows just begin to puff. Cool while preparing topping. In large saucepan, heat corn syrup, 1/4 cup margarine, 2 teaspoon vanilla and peanut butter chips just until chips are melted and mixture is smooth, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in cereal and peanuts. Immediately spoon warm topping over marshmallows and spread to cover. Refrigerate until firm. -----

Tips & Hints:
- Brown rice puffs can be purchased from the health food aisle of most large supermarkets or from your local health food shop. Alternatively, substitute with Kelloggs Rice Bubbles.
- This slice can be made 2 days in advance. Cover and refrigerate.
- Store peanut slice in the refrigerator in an airtight container for 3-4 days or freeze for 1 month.
- Garnish with any finely crushed nut of choice. For a twist, add roasted salted peanuts to the top.
- For a peanut-free version, substitute peanut butter with any nut butter of choice.

1 8 OZ BAG OF FRITOS
1 CUP SUGAR
1 CUP CORN SYRUP
1 CUP PEANUT BUTTER
1/2 CUP PEANUTS...YOU CAN LEAVE THESE OUT
1 CUP MELTED CHOCOLATE CHIPS

Just like I remember back in 60's and 70's
Peanut Butter Bar Recipe
Preheat oven to 350 degrees, butter and line with parchment a 9X13 baking pan.
Bars
16 TBs unsalted butter
1.5 C peanut butter
1.5 C granulated sugar
.5 c brown sugar, packed
1.5 tsp kosher salt
1 T vanilla
4 eggs at room temperature
2 C flour, sifted
Melt together butter and peanut butter. Set aside to cool to room temperature. In large bowl, sift together sugars and salt. Whisk in one egg at a time until combined. Add-in vanilla. Whisk in peanut butter mixture until combined. Sift in flour and mix until flour just disappears. Pour into prepared pan and bake until tester comes out with moist crumbs (about 35 minutes).
Icing
1 C confectioner’s sugar
.25 cup peanut butter, melted
Milk (amount depends on desired thickness of icing–start with a couple of tablespoons and go from there).
Once bars have cooled, flip out onto a cooling rack fitted into a cookie sheet (to catch the icing). Mix icing ingredients togther until of desired consistency. Drizzle over bars. Let icing set up and cut.
