Charcuterie boards have a tendency to be overly expensive. I’m talking about dropping between $100-$300 on a single board! And yeah, I understand the quality of food you’re buying is worth it... but we can definitely make some great choices for cheaper that ultimately taste and look the same.

Run for the Roses Pie
2 cups sugar
¼ cup cocoa powder
¼ teaspoon salt
4 eggs, well-beaten
5-ounce can of evaporated milk
2 sticks butter, melted (To have a pie with less fat and calories, reduce the butter to 1 stick [1/2 cup].)
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
½ cup chopped black walnuts
1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell
whipped cream & mint sprigs, for garnish (optional)
In a large mixing bowl, mix together sugar, cocoa powder, and salt. Add beaten eggs, melted butter, and vanilla and mix thoroughly. Stir in black walnuts. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake at 375 degrees (F) for 10 minutes. Reduce oven heat to 350 degrees (F) and bake about 15 to 20 minutes longer. Remove from oven and cool completely. Garnish with whipped cream and sprigs of mint, if desired. Enjoy! --Betty :)
