Fresh Apple Cake - 100 Year Old Recipe - McAtee Reunion Cake 2023 - The Hillbilly Kitchen
Old Fashioned Fresh Apple Cake is a simple sweet treat that will bring back sweet memories. There is nothing better for Sunday Dinner, a church potluck or breakfast than a fresh apple cake. It is the perfect dessert to transition us into the fall season.
There are no fancy or expensive ingredients, so you won’t need to go shopping to make one and you won’t have trouble finding ingredients during these hard times.
Apple Sheet Cakes have been around for hundreds of years and they are so good they will be around for hundreds of years longer. You won’t believe how good it tastes and if you are on a budget this is a real treat that won’t break the bank.
When I was a kid, we couldn’t wait for the apples to get ripe so Granny would make a fresh apple cake. In this video I will show you how she made hers and I will also give you several ideas for topping them.
As a bonus you can join me at the 2023 McAtee Family reunion in Phillipsburg, New Jersey where my dad grew up. Meet members of my family who I met for the first time today.
MT 6:32-34 …your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Remember to PUT GOD FIRST!
