The world-famous Brad Leone makes BA's best piña coladas - just be careful, they may be sweet and delicious but they pack a punch. Freezing fresh pineapple definitely makes the best impact flavor-wise in this piña colada recipe, but you can use 8 oz. frozen pineapple if you wish.

Piña Colada Recipe

Ingredients List
———————

1 cup freshly chopped pineapples
1/4 cup coconut milk
2 tbsp coconut rum (or rum of choice)
1 tsp lemon juice
1/4 cup Ice (or to preference)
1 cherry for garnishing


(You can add 1 tbsp sugar if you want it a bit sweeter)

- Piña Coladas are the national drink of Puerto Rico and a refreshing summertime favorite! Blue Jean Chef Meredith Laurence teaches you how to make this coconut and pineapple cocktail drink two different ways.

Piña Colada
Serves 1

Ingredients:
2 ounces white rum
3 ounces coconut cream (Coco Lopez Cream of Coconut)
½ cup pineapple juice
ice
pineapple wedge
maraschino cherry

Directions:
1. Shaker Instructions: Pour the rum, coconut cream and pineapple juice into the shaker jar. Fill the shaker jar with ice and shake vigorously for at least 30 seconds. Pour out into a glass and garnish with a wedge of pineapple and a maraschino cherry.
2. Blender Instructions: Pour the rum, coconut cream and pineapple juice into the blender jar. Add 3 cups of ice (or 2 cups of ice and 1 cup of frozen pineapple chunks). Blend in a blender to a smooth consistency and then pour into glasses. Garnish with a wedge of pineapple and a maraschino cherry.

The Piña Colada may very well be the king of the Tropical cocktail. While credit should be given to Puerto Rico for the popularity of the Piña Colada, drinks consisting of the same or similar ingredients had been around for some time before the Caribe Hilton Piña Colada version. There's no doubt that the creation of CocoLopez in 1949 evolved this drink into the resort staple it is today.

There are many ways to make a Piña Colada and in this video, we'll make it shaken, in a drink mixer, with a blender, and with a Ninja Creami.
