Oven Baked Brisket vs. Smoked Brisket | Battle of the Briskets!
Today on Anne's Family Recipe, it's the Battle of the Briskets--Oven Baked vs. Smoked Brisket! My friend Chay is smoking his dry aged beef brisket from Logan Family Farms on his Traeger with all kinds of delicious seasonings and flavor infusing tricks. I will be oven roasting my dry aged brisket low and slow in a zesty Tex Mex style rub. Who's brisket will reign supreme? Just wait until you see the results!
Pat rub mixture over entire surface of the (thawed) brisket. Wrap brisket in a double layer of foil. Refrigerate at least 24 hours or up to two days. Place wrapped brisket, fat side up, on a rimmed sheet pan. Roast at 250* for about 1 hour per pound (ex. 6 pound brisket cooks for about 6 hours). Do not open the foil while cooking. Place a small pan of water in the oven while the brisket cooks. Allow the meat to rest in the foil for about 1 hour after cooking. Slice the brisket against the grain. ENJOY!
