Well I really went to town on these things.

I was addicted eating them like they

I just can't stop.
Have the same problem with pizza.
Setting these on paper towels will absorb grease.
However You may want to pat them dry with slight pressure
between paper towel or lint free cloth.

Cheesy Patty Melt #shorts #fyp #viral #cooking #chef #food #recipe #beef #cheese #trending
Recipe inspiration @JoshuaWeissman
Ingredients: Serves 3
1 lb ground beef 80/20
1 yellow onion
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp fresh thyme; optional
3 slices American cheese
3 slices cheddar cheese
9 slices sourdough bread
2 Tbsp butter
Sauce ingredients
2/3 cup mayo
2 Tbsp Dijon mustard
3 Tbsp ketchup
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 Tbsp sweet relish
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
2 cloves grated garlic
salt & pepper to taste
In a bowl, add all ingredients and whisk until combined. Set aside.
Then shape your beef into 6 even balls. In a frying pan over medium heat, add oil, onions and sugar. Season with salt and cook until caramelized, stirring occasionally, about 15-20 minutes. In a frying pan toast your bread with butter. You can also use a toaster. (I didn't toast my bread enough)
Heat a cast iron skillet over medium high heat for 3-4 minutes. Then add two beef balls and smash with the back of a spatula wrapped in aluminum foil. Season with salt and pepper, then flip and add cheddar cheese to one and American to the other. Stack you patties and place on a plate.
To assemble, add sauce to the bottom slice of bread, then place the patties and a generous layer of caramelized onions on top. Sauce your other slice of bread and top your sandwich.
Enjoy!
