How To make Old Fashioned Lemonade
1 1/2 c Sugar, granulated
1 1/2 c -Water
1 tb Lemon rind; finely grated
1 1/2 c Lemon juice; 6-7 lemons
1 Lemon; sliced thinly
Mint sprigs "This delightful recipe is from _The Anne of Green Gables Cookbook_ by Kate MacDonald." In small saucepan, stir together sugar, water and lemon rind. Bring to a boil; stirring constantly; boil for 5 minutes, stirring. Remove from heat and let cool. Stir in lemon juice. Transfer to a jar; cover and refrigerate for up to 3 weeks. To serve, place 2 ice cubes in each tall glass. Add 1/4 cup (50ml) of the syrup and 3/4 cup (175ml) cold water; stir well. Garnish with lemon slice and sprig of mint. This is a recipe for a perfect lemonade, it’s so tasty and refreshing, just try it once and you would never regret it.
To make 2 litres you’ll need:
Lemons – 2 pounds / 1 kg
Sugar – 7 oz / 200 g
Water – 6 cups
1. Zest the lemons on a fine grater.
2. Bring water to a boil, add zest & sugar. Simmer 10 minutes. Let it cool down.
3. Juice the lemons.
4. Sieve the lemon juice & syrup.

Makes about 8 servings
Ingredients:
1½ cup (360ml) Lemon juice (about 6-8 lemons)
4-6 cup (1-1½L) Water, divided
3/4 cup (150g) Sugar
Ice (optional)
Lemon slices (optional)
Directions:
1. Juice the lemons: squeeze the lemons, measure 1½ cups (360ml), strain through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher and set aside.
2. Make simple syrup: in a small-medium sized saucepan combine sugar and 3/4 cup (180ml) of water. Bring to a boil and stir until sugar has dissolved.
3. Make the lemonade: combine the syrup with lemon juice and allow to cool, then transfer to the fridge until ready to serve. When ready to serve add 3-5 cups of cold water *read notes, ice (optional) and lemon slices (optional).
4. Serve and enjoy!
Notes:
• If the lemonade is too sweet to your taste, add more water.
• No enhance the Kemon flavor, you can add 1 tablespoon of lemon zest to the syrup, while cooking. Then drain the syrup and leave the zest out.
