MONGGO-Mung bean BREAD with cinnamon sugar and almond toppings
MONGGO BREAD RECIPE@TheBicolanos2023
Dry:
2 cups All purpose flour
2 tbsp. g granulated sugar-mix with flour
1 teaspoon self-rise instant yeast
Pinch of salt
1 cup brown sugar and 1 tbsp. cinnamon mix for sprinkling with the cooked monggo/mung beans- left over can be used for next baking.
Handful of sliced almonds
Wet:
1/4 cup warm milk
2 tbsp. melted butter
2 eggs
2 tbsp. plain yogurt
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 cup cooked mung beans/ monggo for fillings- can add 2 tbsp of sugar if preferred to be sweeter.
Eggwash
* Mix all the dry ingredients and pour in the warm milk mix it and leave it for 2 mins.
* Mix all of the rest of wet ingredients mix well and pour it on the dry ingredients to form a dough, knead for 10 minutes, cover with plastic wrap and towel let it rest for 2 hours until it doubled in size or up to 4 hours room temp.
* Pre- Heat oven to 340 F
* Roll the dough into a square and sprinkle the cinnamon and sugar mix, spread the mung bean/monggo. Then roll it, and put another cinnamon mix and mung bean for the second layer. And roll it to close.
* Brush the ends with egg wash to seal it and roll it round and transfer into the greased round baking pan with parchment paper at the bottom.
* Egg wash the top and sprinkle another cinnamon mix and almonds.
* In this video I made a big batch of dough so I can use it to make a blueberry cheese bread and simple dinner roll. Please watch the other videos.
* Bake it for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
Servings: 4 persons
Prep time: making the dough -20 minutes
Resting the dough 1-2 hours until it doubled in size. Depending on your house temperature. If it is warm it rises quickly than cooler temperature.
Cooking time: 25 minutes to 30 minutes.

This mung bean porridge recipe is ready in 1 hour and 10 minutes (without pre-soaking) ????
Ingredients:
* dry mung beans
* brown sugar
* regular sugar(organic sugar)
* coconut milk (for serving)
* pandan leaves
* salt
* water
* fresh ginger root
Note :
I warm up the coconut milk with half a cup of water (my coconut milk is quite thick).
I add pandan leaves and a pinch of salt into the coconut milk and warm it up. When I see a few bubbles (it boils), I stir everything and turn the gas off. I let my coconut milk sit with the lid on. The pandan leaves had the time to give off their amazing flavor.

SWEET RICE MUNG BEANS DESSERT | GINATAANG MONGGO AT MALAGKIT
Ginataang monggo is a great recipe for either breakfast, snacks or dessert.. a perfect pair for your coffee!
Ingredients:
1/4 cup - mung beans (for whole mung beans, read instructions below)
1/3 cup - sugar (brown or white)
1/2 cup - sweet rice
1 can - lite coconut milk (you can use water instead if you don't have it)
1 can - regular coconut milk
Directions for toasting whole mung beans:
1. Heat up a pan and start toasting the mung beans.
2. Once it's toasted, let it cool.
3. Place in a ziplock and use a rolling pin to split the mung beans.
Directions for cooking.
1. Toast the mungs beans and set aside to cool.
2. Wash the sweet rice and add the can of lite coconut milk.
3. Bring to a boil.
4. Once boiling, stir and add the second can of coconut milk and toasted mung beans.
5. Cook with constant stirring until the rice is very soft and sticky.
6. Enjoy hot or cold.

How to make Minatamis na Monggo ( Sweetened Red Mung Beans or Azuki Beans )
Minatamis na Monggo ( sweetend red mung beans or adzuki beans ) is perfect to eat with ice cream or as an ingredients in Filipino halo-halo.
INGREDIENTS :
- 1 cup red mung beans or Adzuki beans, soak in water overnight
- 1 cup water, adjust as needed
- 1/2 cup sugar, adjust as needed

MUNG BEAN SOUP/GREEN BEAN SOUP || Sally's Recipe
Mung bean is very beneficial for health.
Mung beans are a good source of antioxidants, potassium, magnesium and fiber.
It helps to clear body heat, reduce acne, and detox the body.
It also good for pregnant mother because folate in mung beans can support a healthy pregnancy.
Recipe Detail
Ingredients :
1. 200 gr Mung Beans
2. 70 gr Palm Sugar / Brown Sugar
3. 1 Pandan Leaf
4. 75 ml Condensed Milk / Sweetener
5. 1500 ml Water
How to Cook :
1. Wash the beans. Leave for a night or minimum 3-4 hours, maximum 12 hours until it cracked. The beans need to soaked so it will be easier to digest.
2. Drain and rinse until clean.
3. Tie the pandan leaves so it will be easier to cook.
4. Cook the beans in boiling water . I'm using 5-30-7 method, which means first 5 minutes boil the green beans, then turn off the stove and close the lid, leave for 30 minutes, and the turn on the heat again and boil the beans for 7 minutes.
5. Add the palm sugar / brown sugar and pandan leaves. Stir.
6. Add condensed milk / sweetener.
7. Serve hot or cold.

Red Mung Beans Turones with Sugar Candy
Filipino afternoon snacks, one of my Favorite, i want to share my own version for this turones, let’s watch and learn how to cook this PinoYummy Recipe...
Ingredients
1 cup Red Mung Beans
2 cups Brown Sugar
30pcs Lumpia Wrapper Small
2tbsp water for sealing the wrapper
2 sets of 5 tbsp water for sugar candy syrup
1 cup cooking oil
Procedure
Put 1 cup of red mung beans and 4 cups of water into a cooking pot, set the stove into medium heat and bring boil the red mung beans for 1hr stir occasionally once boiling add 1 cup of sugar, wait until water is disappear and see a thick texture of mung beans .once u see this texture the mung beans is already cooked let it cool for 20minutes. Manually Mush the mung beans into a smooth texture when done. put 1 tbsp into the lumpia wrapper then roll it, to seal, dip your fingers into a water and brush it in the edge of the lumpia wrapper then roll to seal. Do this until you have wrapper.
Set a frying pan into a medium heat add the 1 cup of cooking oil, once the oil is boiling, fry the redmung beans rolls . wait until golden brown into both sides.
For sugar candy coating.
Dissolve 1 cup of sugar into the 5tbsp water mix throughly until the sugar melts, set the stove into a medium pan and wait the melted sugar to be sticky once sticky put all the fried roll turones and mix carefully . Set the stove off and the turones is done. Lets plate it.
Sugar syrup
