2 1/2 cups dry great northern beans
(about 1
1 lb )
1 teaspoon salt
1 pound sliced bacon :
cooked and crumbled
1 cup packed brown sugar
3 Tablespoons molasses
3 small onions -- chopped
Place beans and salt in a saucepan; cover with water. Bring to a boil; boil for 2 min. Remove from the heat; cover and let stand for 1 hour. drain, reserving liquid. combine beans, 1 cup liquid and the remaining ingredients in a greased 2-1/2 qt baking dish. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 1-1/4 hours or until beans are tender, stirring occasionally (add additional reserved liquid if needed).

KIDNEY BEAN SPREAD is a very simple recipe. You can also refer to this recipe as BAKED BEANS . Baked beans are most common for breakfast. This is equally good for lunch and dinner.
This is ideal for weekday breakfast, lunch and weeknight dinners. You can make it and store for 7 days at least, in refrigerator. It is a protein enriched spread, which you can have with any type of bread.
only few regular ingredients are required for making this healthy food.
INGREDIENTS:
* kidney beans...................................................100 gms
* tomatoes......................................................... 2 medium size
* tomato ketchup............................................... 1 cup
* fresh parsley leaves (chopped)...................... 1/2 cup
* garlic ginger paste.......................................... 2 tbls
* coriander powder............................................ 1 tbls
* salt................................................................... to taste
* all purpose flour ............................................. 2 tbls
* olive oil............................................................ 1/3 cup
PREPARATION TIME: 10 minutes
COOKING TIME: 15 minutes
Weekdays are very hectic and we really need easy and simple recipes. Dinner becomes super yummy with this KIDNEY BEAN SPREAD.
Spread it on bread just before eating. If you toast the bread a bit the food becomes 3 times tastier.
