How To make Mom's Buttermilk Biscuits
TASTE OF HOME 4/5/94:
2 c All-purpose flour
2 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Baking soda
1/2 ts Salt
1/4 c Shortening
3/4 c Buttermilk
In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; cut in shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in buttermilk; knead dough gently. Roll out to 1/2" thickness. Cut with a 2 1/2" biscuit cutter and place on a lightly greased

Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits
Old Fashion Pioneer Buttermilk BIscuits
Preheat oven to 430 degrees.
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups All Purpose Flour, plus extra for keeping hands floured
2 Tablespoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
5 Tablespoons butter, melted in baking pan
1 3/4 cups buttermilk (more or less)
Mix dry ingredients together .
Add buttermilk and melted butter mixing just until incorporated.
Leave about 2 Tablespoons of butter in the bottom of baking pan.Sprinkle flour over biscuit dough, Flour a large tablespoon and flour hands. Use tablespoon to scoop a generous scoop, place in hands and smooth into a rounded shape and add to pan. Continue until finished using more flour for hands or on top of biscuits as needed. Using your hand press biscuits in pan to smooth out. You can brush the tops with butter if you need to omit the floured tops.
Bake at 430 degrees for 15 minutes or until browned.
Flip out onto a plate. Yum! Yum!

Buttermilk Biscuit Recipe | Mom Gets Too Confident
Mom does morning chores all by herself. Makes her recipe of buttermilk biscuits, until things go wrong.
Recipe:
2 cups unbleached flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 stick of butter (real butter)
1 cup of buttermilk OR yogurt (thinned with water if needed)
1 tsp kosher salt
The night before place a stick of butter in the fridge, or for at least 30 minutes before making the biscuits.
In a stand mixer, pour flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
Shred the frozen butter with a cheese grater and mix into the flour mixture until crumbly.
Pour in the buttermilk or yogurt. Mix until just incorporated. Be sure to not over mix.
Pour out onto counter and flatten until the dough in a bout an inch high. Still being careful to not over work.
Cut out biscuits but do not twist the cutter.
Place close together in a greased pan.
Bake at 425 for 10-15 minutes. You may find yourself needing to go up to 20-25 minutes. Bake until golden brown on top.
