How To make Miss Hulling's Chicken Pot Pie
1 5 pound stewing hen, cut up
5 c Water
1 sm Onion
1/2 ts Salt
1 Recipe pastry
2 md Potatoes, cooked and cubed
2 Ribs celery
2 Carrots
Simmer chicken in water with onion, celery, carrots and salt until tender (about 3 hours). Remove chicken from bones and cut in cubes, discarding the skin. Strain broth and measure, adding water to make 3 cups.
Thicken broth with 4 Tablespoons flour mixed with 1/4 cup water. Adjust seasonings with a dash of white pepper and more salt if necessary. Add chicken, carrots (cubed) and cubed potatoes. Spoon into 6 individual casserole dishes or a 2-quart casserole. Roll pastry about 1/4-inch thick and top the casserole, sealing the edges. Make several slashes in the pastry to allow the steam to escape. Bake in a hot oven (400 degrees F.) for about 30 minutes or until golden brown. Helpful Hints: Biscuit dough (rolled thin) or individual biscuits may be used for the topping. I also add defrosted frozen peas, to add more color.

Sheet Pan Asparagus Tart #shorts
This is a favorite Test Kitchen throw-together spring tart after shopping at the San Francisco Ferry Building Farmers’ Market on Saturday mornings. The filling features chopped and whole asparagus spears enriched with eggs, cream, goat cheese and Parmesan, all baked in a quarter sheet pan. It makes a perfect centerpiece for brunch or lunch, paired with a tossed green salad. Keep in mind that the color of the filling will vary, depending on the brightness of your egg yolks. We love using eggs from chickens that were fed marigold petals, which lend a lovely orange hue. You can make your own tart dough with the recipe below or purchase ready-to-use pie dough.

Strawberry Lemongrass Cheesecake
Huge thanks to my friends who've let me tag them in this video. More on these amazing people in the description below!
Strawberries are delicious, and lemongrass is delicious, so I thought I'd find some recipes out there that combined the two in some form or another. Well, looks like nobody's done it yet for some reason, so I'm proud to introduce to the world my Strawberry Lemongrass Cheesecake!
Hey it's technically an invention if nobody else has published it yet, right?
Strawberries and lemongrass are naturally opposing flavors, but we can fuse them together by turning them into a jam, which takes a while, but ooooh-ho-ho-hooooo is it totally worth it in the end. Just ask my friends and customers who gave me their permission to be featured in this video! Please follow their pages, they're all great people!
If you try this recipe, please let me know what you think!

Hickory nuts 3 ways: Chai, no-bake cookies, and milk
I harvested a bunch of hickory nuts from our trees and wanted to share a few hickory nut recipes. I used Waterfall Farm maple syrup (from Western NC) to sweeten the hickory nut chai, honey from my bees to sweeten the no-bake hickory nut cookies, and made a simple unsweetened hickory nut milk.
