1 ts Powdered Sugar
2 ts -Water
2 1/2 oz Bourbon Whiskey
Servings: 1 ~Robbie Shelton Into a silver mug or 12 oz Tom Colling glass, dissolve 1 teaspoon powdered sugar with 2 teaspoons of water. Then fill with finely shaved ice and add bourbon whiskey. Stir until glass is heavily frosted adding more ice if necessary. (Do not hold glass with hand while stirring.) Decorate with 5 or 6 sprigs of fresh mint so that the tops are about 2 inches above the rim of mug or glass. Use short straws so that it will be necessary to bury nose in mint. The mint is intended for odor rather than taste. This recipe is from "OLD MR. BOSTON'S DELUXE BARTENDER'S GUIDE."

How to make a Mint Julep and the Whiskey Smash
Hey folks, In this video I'm making two whiskey cocktails with one very important common ingredient, mint. I dive into a little brief history on the Mint Julep and its closely related cousin, the Whiskey Smash. Both drinks are made with essentially the same ingredients with the same 1:1 simple syrup and Kentucky bourbon. But because of the difference the citrus makes, they are dramatically different beverages. With any luck you should be able to follow suit and do the same at home. This is my fist attempt at this style of video and I hope you enjoy.

Less ingredients means less to screw up, right? Wrong. There's only three parts to a mint julep, but if the bourbon, mint, and simple syrup aren't balanced just-so, you'll end up with nothing more than a crappy mixed drink. Tom Macy shows you how to make the centuries-old cocktail
