Mexican Shrimp Cocktail Recipe
Here is the way I like to make Mexican style shrimp cocktail. My favorite way to serve it is on tostadas. This recipe is a light and fresh way to serve a meal or appetizer. It is also a great party food and can be multiplied to feed a hungry crowd. You can adjust the ingredients to your taste and add the fresh elements of your choice.
INGREDIENTS
1lb uncooked unpeeled shrimp
4 1/2 cups water
1/2 small onion
2 cloves fresh garlic
peppercorns (optional)
SAUCE
1/3 to 1/2 cup ketchup
1 1/2 tsp Maggi seasoning sauce (or Worchestershire or soy sauce)
1/4 cup shrimp stock (cooled)
1/4 cup citrus juice (lemon, lime or orange combo works)
1 1/2 tbls hot sauce
1/2 small onion diced
fresh avocado diced
2 Roma tomatoes diced
1/2 cup chopped cilantro
1 diced jalapeno or serrano pepper (if you like it spicy)
This recipe feeds 2 to 3 people as an appetizer

Have you ever had Mexican Shrimp Cocktail? It's nothing like the standard shrimp cocktail on many menus. Loaded with plump juicy shrimp and buttery avocado in a spicy, tomato based sauce with plenty of crunch.

INGREDIENTS
►1 pound medium shrimp shell on
►1 lemon cut in to wedges
►1 teaspoon black peppercorns
►1 tablespoon kosher salt
►2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh cilantro leaves stems reserved
►2 medium tomatoes cored and diced
►1 small cucumber peeled and diced
►½ small red onion finely chopped
►1 cup vegetable juice such as V8
►1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
►1 tablespoon lemon juice ideally fresh
►⅓ cup ketchup
►1 ½ tablespoons fresh lime juice plus lime wedges for serving
►¼ cup water
►2 ½ teaspoons hot sauce such as Cholula
►1 small avocado halved, pitted and diced
►salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
►tortilla chips for serving

Mexican Shrimp Cocktail
Mexican shrimp cocktail is filled with fresh vegetables, a homemade tangy tomato sauce, and perfectly cooked shrimp! This is the ultimate poolside treat.

✅Ingredients
• 1 pound shrimp cooked, peeled, and deveined
• 2 roma tomatoes diced
• 1 English cucumber chopped into 1/4 size cubes
• 1/2 cup celery chopped
• 1/4 cup diced red onion
• 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
• 1 large avocado diced when ready to serve
• 1/2-1 jalapeno finely diced
• 2 cloves garlic finely minced
• 2 cups tomato juice
• 1/2 cup ketchup
• 1/4 cup lime juice about 2 limes worth
• 2 tablespoons hot sauce give or take to your liking
• 1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
• 1 teaspoon black pepper
• 1 teaspoon salt
✅Instructions
1️⃣ Cook shrimp if needed and place in a large mixing bowl.
2️⃣ Chop tomatoes, cucumber, celery, onion, cilantro and jalapeño. Add into the bowl with the shrimp, Add in finely minced garlic.
3️⃣ In a separate mixing bowl, make the juice by adding in tomato juice, ketchup, lime juice, hot sauce, prepared horseradish, pepper and salt. Stir until well combined.
4️⃣ Pour the sauce mixture over the shrimp and vegetables. Ladle into a fancy cup and enjoy!

1 Tomato
1 Cucumber
1 Carrot
1/2 Purple Onion
1-2 Green Onions
Cilantro to taste
1-2 Cups of Clamato Juice
3/4 Cup V8 Juice or 1 Small Can
1/4- 1/2 Half cup Ketchup
Juice of 1 Lemon
Juice of 1 Lime or Key Lime
1 Tablespoon Soy Sauce
1/2 Teaspoon Maggi Seasoning (Still taste great without)
1/2 Teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
Salt and Pepper to taste
If you have seafood ALLERGY use V8 Juice with 1/2 - 1 Cup Water
Jicama is a great alternative to enjoy this recipe without Shrimp
This cocktail pairs well with corn chips, Tostadas, Saltine Cracker (Mexican style is bomb.com), and of course some delicious creamy Mayo.
How to Boil Shrimp
Clean shrimp and remove Shells. Bring water to a Boil and add 1/2 Teaspoon Salt. Boil shrimp 1 Minute and take out. Place the shrimp in cold water or Ice water bath. Once the shrimp have cooled you are ready to start the recipe.

Mexican Shrimp Cocktail or Coctel de Camaron is a refreshing dish prepared with fresh vegetables, shrimp, and a combination of hot sauce and ketchup.
Ingredients:
Two 10oz Bags of Large Shrimp Peeled and Deveined
4 Cups Water
2 Garlic Cloves
1/4 White Onion
2 Bay Leaves
3-4 limes
2 Large Cucumbers
2 -3 Large Avocados
1-2 Serrano Peppers (Optional)
1/4 Red Onion
Cilantro (I used half a bundle)
Salt & Pepper
One 32 Oz Bottle of Your Favorite Clamato Tomato Cocktail
1 cup Ketchup
1/4 Cup Chipotle Adobo Sauce
This recipe is very diverse, you can also add fresh tomatoes or more of any of the ingredients I used.
