This week I am super excited to be kicking off my Halloween treats with this adorable How-To mummy cake tutorial! I love that this cake is the cute kind of spooky. It is perfect for a kids Halloween party! But of course, if you are looking for something scary, or gory I have lots of zombie cakes and such on my Halloween playlist.
To start off you are going to need a 6”rd cake. I leveled off the top and divided it in two. I filled it using my buttercream icing and gave it a nice crumb coat. For my mommy’s eyes a rolled out some black fondant, cut out a rough shape and glued it onto my cake using water.
Now it’s time to make our mummy bandages. I rolled out some white fondant, cut it into strips and frayed the edges using my figures. I then glued them onto my cake using water, making sure to cover up all of the cake and have the bandages crisscrossing all over.
Our mummy is looking to clean... so I used edible colour dust and dusted all the frayed edges of my fondant. For my mummy’s eyes I cut out yellow and black circles of fondant and layered the up together, glued them onto my cake and added on a speck of white.
I love how easy this DIY mummy cake is, and I especially loved making mu little mummy costume!
