Hey guys, welcome back to my channel! Today I'm excited to share with you my favorite budget-friendly dinner (or breakfast!) idea: Liptauer cheese spread. This delicious spread is a traditional dish from Austria and Hungary, made from simple ingredients like cream cheese, butter, and paprika, and can be used in a variety of ways to create cheap and tasty meals.
Ingredients:
250g cream cheese
50g butter
2 tbsp sweet paprika
1 tbsp spicy paprika
2 tbsp capers, drained and chopped
2 tbsp pickles, finely chopped
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 tsp caraway seeds
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
In a large bowl, mix the cream cheese and butter together until smooth.
Add the sweet and spicy paprika, capers, pickles, onion, caraway seeds, salt, and pepper, and mix well.
Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary.
Serve the Liptauer cheese spread with bread, crackers, or vegetables.
In this video, I've shown you a classic Liptauer cheese toast, which is perfect for a quick and easy meal. To make this, simply spread the Liptauer cheese spread on a slice of bread and toast until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Fromage Fort: Homemade Cheese Spread | Jacques Pépin Cooking At Home | KQED
Have a stockpile of leftover cheese in your refrigerator? Try this fromage fort - a spreadable strong cheese recipe made with white wine. Simply remove rinds and cut up an assortment of hard and soft cheeses. If you're using a lot of hard cheese and would like to soften the mixture, add a bit of cream cheese or sour cream. Put the cheese in a food processor with a bit of dry white wine (you can substitute vegetable broth), 4 garlic cloves, and pepper. That's it! You can put the mixture to brown in the broiler for a milder flavor. Put on top of soup, in pasta, cream puff dough, or just spread on a nice piece of crusty bread.
What you'll need:
1 lb. assorted cheese, garlic cloves, white wine, pepper.
