Ingredients
500grm mutton/ beef
500grm spinach
2 medium sliced onion
1 inch cinnamon pieces
5 cloves
1tsp cumin seeds
1/4tsp black pepper
2 black cardamom
1tsp red chilli powder
1/4 tap turmeric powder
1 1/4 coriander powder
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
5-6 green chillies
2 roughly chopped tomatoes
100grm curd
Salt as per taste and
100grm oil

Lamb and spinach curry was introduced to me when I was about 21 years of age, and it has been a firm favourite of mine ever since. I made a point of learning how to cook this delicious curry, and I have been perfecting my recipe over many years.
This wonderful dish is known as saag gosht or palak gosht on the Indian subcontinent and also among the diaspora from that immense region now living elsewhere in the world.
Saag gosht/palak gosht combines the sweet succulence of lamb with the many health benefits of spinach, in a way that delights the palate and really satisfies.
You can substitute shoulder of mutton or venison for the lamb in this recipe, adjusting the simmering time until the meat is tender.
If you have never tried saag gosht, I highly recommend you do!

This is a indian restaurant favourite, Lamb Saag, cooked from scratch. You will love this recipe.
The secret to the vibrant green colour is due to the way the spinach is prepared. Also by marinating the lamb in yoghurt you get a much more tender lamb
