Easy Special Ingredient Jello Poke hole cake
Hello, welcome to Ellies kitchen!
I thank you for joining me today as I make my special ingredient Jell-O cake. This is a very basic recipe, but everyone seems to love it. When I make this cake it will is a success every time.
Directions:
One box White Cake Mix, and the ingredients listed on the box.
Prepare cake as listed on the cake box.
My white Cake mix called for 1 1/4 c water, 1/2 c oil, 4 egg whites
Bake cake as directed. Cool cook before poking the holes..otherwise it might rip easily.
Dilute one 3 oz box of strawberry jello with 1 1/2 cup of water in microwave, approx. 1.5 min.
Using a straw, poke holes into the cooled cake, approx. one inch apart across the entire baked cake.
Pour the diluted jello evenly on the cake.
Liquify a can of Cherry pie filling using a ninja mixer or food processor, then pour it onto the cake.
Place the cake into the freezer for a couple of hours to freeze the cherry pie filling. This step will keep the Cool whip and the cherry pie filling from blending together when topping with the Cool Whip.
After the cake is frozen, spoon the cool Whip on to the cake, reserving a small amount of the Cool Whip.
Using the reserved Cool Whip, add a few drops of red food coloring to desired color.
Dollop the red topping onto the cake and swirl it, using a butter knife.
Enjoy!
