So I love a good spud bread for the fry or just slathered in butter. yum!! So here it is and this is a basic recipe, add what ever you like. I also made sweet chilli, chilli, tandori and just plain. I like to then freeze it and pop it in the toaster to defrost.

Tattie Scones | Potato Farls | Potato Bread
Scottish tattie scones and Irish potato farls, or potato bread, are pretty much the same thing. Tattie scones and potato farls are really easy to make and a brilliant way to use up leftover mashed potato. Tattie scone or potato farls are usually served with a Scottish cooked breakfast or as part of and Irish cooked breakfast (or Ulster Fry). But you can also serve them like traditional scones, spread with butter and jam.

Left over potatoes mixed with melted butter, salt and pepper. Cook on floured griddle cook until browned.

I have shown you how to make traditional Irish potato bread in the past (I have linked that recipe in the video) and that was using cold potato and shaped in the traditional style. This recipe is made from hot potato and is made into a loaf of potato bread. This is a very simple and very quick recipe . The bread loaf turns out so soft and delicious and can be eaten as it is with butter or fried in butter for that little bit of extra flavour. The Irish love butter so its not surprising that we love to fry bread in it! You can add herbs to your bread to give it a bit of a different flavour which means you can give it your own personal stamp. This is really delicious artisan bread.
Ingredients
500gms potato
500gms flour
50gms butter
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon of pepper
1 tablespoon of herbs of your choice
