Tarte Tatin, the tasty recipe for the French apple pie
It’ll be impossible not to fall in love with this dessert. There are plenty of apple pie recipes, but this one is really special. Here is how to prepare the perfect Tarte Tatin!
INGREDIENTS
6 apples
juice of half a lemon
75g butter
200g sugar
1 sheet of shortcrust pastry
DIRECTIONS
Slice the apples (red, golden or any variety you prefer), cover them in the juice of half a lemon, this helps them not turn brown. In a non-stick pan, melt the butter and sugar on low heat until slightly caramelized, add the apples and let them cook until they are a darker golden color. Cover with a sheet of shortcrust pastry and bake at 200°C for 20 minutes.
