-savers Or other colorful hard candy Recipe by: St. Louis Post-Dispatch 8/5/96 In a medium bowl, stir together flour, baking powder and salt; set aside. In a large mixer bowl, beat butter and shortening together. Add sugar and beat until light and fluffy; beat in egg and extract. With mixer at low speed, gradually blend in flour mixture just until well-mixed. Turn dough out onto a sheet of plastic wrap, cover with another sheet, flatten into a disc and chill until firm, 15 to 30 minutes. While the dough is chilling, give each child a few 3-by-5-inch index cards. Cut each card to resemble a pair of sunglasses (just the frames, not the temples); set patterns aside. Divide Life Savers by colors. Place each color in a freezer-weight zipper-sealed plastic bag and crack coarsely with a tin can or meat mallet. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place about half the dough on a surface lightly sprinkled with flour. Sprinkle dough lightly with additional flour and roll to about 1/4-inch thick. Lay sunglasses patterns on dough and cut around. Cut holes for "lenses" out of each cookie, leaving "frame" at least 1/2-inch wide all around. Lift cookies onto a lightly greased, foil-lined
baking sheet. Spoon crushed candy into lens holes, filling level with top of cookie. Bake 7 to 9 minutes; let cool completely on sheets. Carefully -----

Emma Ball makes a Fifty Shades of Grey erotic cake
Emma Ball a baker who makes her living creating erotic cakes has paid homage to the hit film and book 50 Shades of Grey by capturing her favourite scene in sponge. Emma who works at Richard’s Cakes in Urmston, Greater Manchester, has been creating rude cakes for 16 years but none as iconic as her latest masterpiece. The cake, which took around three hours to create, shows the main characters Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in Christian's ‘red room’ surrounded by an array of bondage equipment. The hugely popular book has been adapted for the silver screen and is due to be released on February 13th, so Emma is expecting a surge in requests for her saucy sponge.

50 Shades of Chia Pudding: A Diabetes Breakfast Revolution
Chia pudding is a healthy, hearty breakfast with little impact on blood sugar, and takes just a few minutes to create!
To make chia seed pudding, mix 1/4 cup of chia seeds, and 1/2 cup of water (or milk of your choice). After about a minute of stirring with a spoon and about a minute sitting, it turns into a pudding-like gel. Then, you can mix in an oil or nut butter for creaminess. Finally, add some combination of toppings like cinnamon, berries, shelled sunflower seeds, vanilla extract, and nuts. It can also be made in a batch ahead of time by quadrupling the recipe. The water can be hot or cold, depending on your preferences, and the pudding can be made thicker by using less water. Enjoy!
